Hello,
I'm thinking about getting a Saxo but not sure which one to go for. Could someone explain the differences between a Furio a VTS and a VTR. I'd like to do a couple of mods to it, so should I let that sway my decision?
Cheers al

furio - 1.4 8valve - group 5 insurance - 75 bhp
vtr - 1.6 8valve - group 7 insurance - 90-98 bhp
vts - 1.6 16valve - group 14 insurance - 120bhp
:y:
if its your first car, dont go any higher than the furio, insurance will rape you

Excellent thank you.
No it's not my first car. I'm looking for a new car and I've heard there good fun to drive. Insurance wont be a problem because of my age and 5 years NCD.

The difference in speed between the 1.1 and furio is minimal though so for your first car i'd say your better with the 1.1 and enjoying lower insurance, better mpg, lower road tax & just about the same performance (Think its about a second difference in 0-60 & a couple mph less at the top end)
EDIT: well, in that case the VTR will see you decent mpg and pretty good performance, or the VTS will see you far better performance with a drop in the mpg and added insurance & tax.
N.B. If you get a VTS the 01-03 models are about to get hammered with £310 a year road tax compared to the earlier models (even the W & X reg MK2 models) and the earlier models have a single plug ECU which is preferred if your plannig on modifying the car to the point that it will need ECU modifications.
VTR is the reverse on the road tax too 01-03 models get cheaper tax than the earlier models which pay £180 iirc

get a furio if your going cheap and want the styling ...
get a vtr if your willing to spend abit of cash and have decent go but good mpg
vts for the thrills but its gonna cost you

Just got a quote for a 2000 VTS from Adrian Flux.
Fully comp with protected NCD £356.53. Not bad but I'll see if I can do better;) and the road tax(robbery) will be £185 for 12 months.
