vibrating noise over 5000rpm

the noise sounds like it is coming from the back of ma gearbox and it happens when driving and when not in gear.

ive got a split on my passenger side inner cv joint could this be causing it to vibrate? ive also got x-sport gear linkages and because they are just steel on steel i thought that these could be causing the vibration.

and when in gear my gearstick moves and wobbles an inch each way, which i also thought could cause the vibrating noise. are they difficult to replace

It could be an engine mount combined with the gear linkages, the linkages are pretty straight forward to fit but I would check over the engine and gearbox mounts first off!
