as above mine saxo sounds like a banger racer car lol and smells like one......back on topic how much do you reckon it would cost to change a small gasket metal thing plus labour.........this isnt a daft thread

It cost summit like 2 or 3 quid for the gasket its self and its piss to fit, get your mitts filthy and do it yourself :y:!!!

ok but its all rusty i dont want to snap off the bolts just to change it lol....... this noise has just started after my 6 hour drive from holiday its been ok till 2day its really loud:wall:

just make sure you have a bolt or two spare, will cost you pennys to get two nuts and bolts!! You could save yourself some cash by trying it yourself, you only live once lol

how much are the bolts ? il end up putting it in the garage im only a student so my funds are limited...........ive only got £30 that should cover it......i was using that money towards my spoiler respray but this is more important

you will need a jack (& axel stands), two 10mm spanners and a fitting kit that will have bolts x2, nuts x2, washer x2, cups x2, caps x2, springs x2 and gasket x1. its just a case of jacking the car up taking the old fitting kit off and putting the new one on. the fitting kit will cost you about £8.

the fitting kit from citroen was about 14 quid at trade price

you need to buy the fitting kit to get the manifold gasket, or you could try a motor spares store

go to a local motor factors place you should be able to get it cheap i got the whole kit inc clamps for cat gaskets etc for a fiver:y:

Normally I'd do this kind of stuff myself but seeing as its raining and I don't have anywhere undercover I popped into ATS this morning.

Only cost a tenner inc the gasket.

A SMALL UPDATE:

as the other part has been sorted ive hit another problem:panic:
this part of the exhaust were the springy part is is rusted and its blowing from there.how much is this part of the piper were the lamda senser is fitted in.

how much for this part of the exhaust cost in a garage and from a scaryard thanks in adance:hug:

damaged area is were the exhaust putty stuff is !

put a new gasket in there seal with gun gum and your finished leave it for 15 mins with car ticking over to heat the sealer to go hard then then feel see if shes still blowing with the back off ya hand mate should work :y:

its the whole pipe, it needs replacing the welding has broken away........... i was just wondering how much it cost to replace ..........thanks anyway
