I got a letter in the post this morning about renewing my tax

This being the first year iv had a car, iv never had to renew tax before, so i was a little shoked to see it was going to cost me £120 for a year.

Im guessing this is pretty normal, but i pressume it must change a little between cars?

what are other people paying?

The way road tax is calculated has changed.

Put your car details in here:
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/

and it will tell you what changes there may or may not be to what you pay.

£185 a year for me. Bad times.

Shame they put up the road tax and leave the roads in such a state. As long as the 'MPs' get their fat pay cheques though.

Its gonna be something you need to chek out before you buy a car for the next couple of years.

If id have got a swift registered beore oct 07, id be paying more tax than on a new 1 because they reduced the emissions when they facelifted it.
so, buying a new car, will save me in the long-run.

seems mine has/will be the same for a while.

Agreed with Danr up there, road tax goes up, state of lots of our roads goes down.

Oh well, ill just accept paying it and get on, least it only comes up once a year.
I guess its going to have to be pay for this and not anything for the car this month.
