help me engine wont start :( !!

hi people just put a 2003 saxo vtr egine in my 106 all was goin well engine fitted in fine and everthing loom is all connected up lights and all that working fine but one problem ....... my engine isnt getting a spark?? i have checked the plugs and they are fine.. the eingine was running when it was took out of the 03 vtr 3 weeks ago.. i turn the key the engine sounds like it wants to start but wont get a spark it is getting fuel and everyting else is fine.. i was wondering because at first i tried start it on my old barrel in my 98 pug 106 will it have locked up the ecu?? my 98 106 barrel did not use a transponder key and on the new barrel it uses a transponder key, which will stop if from sparking maybe?? ive checked the crank case sensor that is all fine problem is really bugging me now really just want to get back on the road
