I've got one, i love it, its got the looks of a VTR just not the performance, easier on the wallet :) Only problem i've had with mine is the headgasket, mines 1998 version. The garage said its a common fault with these cars, and also the driveshafts! And the brakes on Saxos are generally shite anyway tbh lol. Hope this helps, i'd deffo advise to get one though, just find a decent one, thats not been thrashed an stuff.

llok out for gearboxes, linkages, sloppy gear changes. and power steering, theyre the only real problems youll get. then all the other bits, thers a lot on a saxo lmao

sloppy gears isnt a good enough reason not to buy one if the price is right because its relatively cheap to fix

yeh obv lmfao, its like a fag burn. I meant if it has bad gear changes n stuff, then if it aint the gear linkages the gearbox could be on the way out. and that will hurt ya pocket :(
hurt mine, i didnt know anything, and i had to pay £535 for a new gearbox, n fitting n everything :(:(

the good thing with saxos is they are normally cheap to fix when they do break, yes i did say when because it will happen at some point

gutted mate! alright for you though with ya dads skills aint it!
I realised LOADS of fualts with my car about a month or 2 after i got it, the gearbox was nackered since i got it, downpipe had corroded and was blowing since i got it, induction filter was massivley blocked, got a leak half way down the block, and leaks oil all the time, then all the little problems.
Good excuse when things break to get uprated ones :p thats my way anyway.

have you checked insurance prices for these and vtr's? on thing ive noticed is the westcoasts and furios seem to cost more than an equivalent vtr. im not sure if its because theyre more desireable to younger drivers or what but you may be able to pick up a vtr a bit cheaper and put the extra towards insurance
