Got fishing again

After a long spell off fishing due to work or working on the car.

I was going to give it a pass in the morning but the weather changing its mind to perfect conditions i couldnt miss out.

2am screaming run on middle rod. Nice hard fight and even harder fight trying to move the net in the wind. Turned out to be a lovely 17lb 4oz common.

1pm this afternoon. Sat chilling with the gf waiting for kettle to do its thing. Single bleep on middle rod. Thought maybe the wind again then it burst into a full blown screaming run.

Again came a nice scrap after its first mad run across the lake. Slipped the net under a big fat 22lb 12oz mirror.

This was the gf's first fishing trip and she loved it and made lots of brews.:)

This is just a section of the 100+ acre lake. Which only holds 25-30 carp.

good effort, nice looking carp, i used to fish alot but spend alot more time on car now and sold all my gear, its so relaxing but if the weather crap there is nothing worse lol

I might have to dust off my fishing gear now I've seen those beautys....

Few cans, a rod and some carp... make a nice day of it!

Last time I was fishing it was for trout/pike ... then seafishing the day before that (about a year ago!) for Mackrell..

I think they have just finished spawning due too them being very big and not weighing that much
