That's not your head gasket, it's your rocker cover gasket. Much cheaper and easier to replace, only a couple of quid and can be changed in under 5 mins.

but if you look at the 3rd pic, it looks like oil leaking down the engine block, and also is that small amount of white/brown stuff under the oil filler cap the 'mayonaise' which people say is a sign on the head gasket

the yellow gunky stuff can just be caused by condensation dude dont worry bout it to much

If you only do short trips in your car the engine wont get hot enough to burn of the condensation so it sometimes does that.
Take it for a good long run every now and then and also check that none of your breather pipes are blocked as this can cause it aswell.
The rocker cover gasket should not cost you any more than a tenner and is very easy to do. 5/10 mins job.

looks like the rocker gasket seal to me as well.
In this damp weather and with short journeys its not uncommon to get a bit of mayo!
If really worried get a compression testing kit from halfords for about £15

i done mine the other day undo your coil pack and then the 2 screws on your rocker cover wipe everything down put your new gasket on and re screw everything easy as pie but be careful there are some washers under the rocker cover dont drop them but apart from that my mate youll be up and running in no time

the gasket has a right way to go on it will be thicker on one side take note it goes to the back near the coil pack

1 tip when you tighten up the 2 studs don`t over tighten them they can snap off.

anyone no where the coilpack is?

on 99 vtr you probably wont need to move the coilpack mate,
undo the 2 bolts on top the rocker cover and lift up straight! do not drop the washers inside the engine (or down a drain) you will know what i mean when you take it off, just remove the rubber bit and put a new one on, then put back together, piece of cake mate..
