speeding!!!!!

just been driving to work.. when this stupid little **** passed the speed camera on the oposit side doing at least 70 in a 30 i checked my speed and i was doing 27 mph the camera flashed willi get the points or what? cam was facing my way.. i havent a clue and will be realy pee'd off if that is the case!!

right..i was traveling towards a speed camera..i checked my speed and i was doing 27 mph.. the cam was facing infron of me on my side of the road just as i got in the white lines this chap on the other side thrashed passed me at about 70 the cam thats set up to get me went off.. easier??

So the camera was on your side of the road? If he was on the opposite side of the road to the camera then it will just flash. It wont record anything, if someone is going too fast on the other side of the road to the camera then the camera gets confused and flashes!! Thats what they are like around our way anyway!!

I shouldn't worry if you were doing 27 mph on your speedo you were actually doing about 22 mph and the camera's can watch 2 lanes i believe.

you'll be fine...the camera will know your speed as you will only have moved a small distance between the 2 flashes...

the silly sod doing 70 mph will have moved more of a distance by the 2nd flash, and so will be screwed.

the camera's take 2 pictures so that the distance your car has travelled can be calculated. The time between the pictures is known so any car in the pic can have the speed calculated. As long as you weren't speeding you'll be fine.

you wont get fined nor will the person who was speeding on the other side, as speed cameras are only able to record the speed of the vechile on the side of the road that they are on.
