id stay away from brum then, altough its like everywhere big. you have nice areas and shitty areas,in nice area's houses cost a fortune.

Go for neither tbh. Try Worcester instead.

Absolutely lovely when I went, beautiful city centre as well. Definitely somewhere I'd visit again... Birmingham and Leicester are two places I'd actually try my hardest to avoid tbh...

As someone said, Worcester isn't all that bad. Isn't packed full of gypsies trying to knife people, which is always a good start...

Brum's 50/50 some places are decent, some places are awful. If you can find a decent priced house in a nice area, you'd be lucky. All my dads side of the family live in Brum and none of them live in rough places, so it's not all bad :y:

Try Stratford Upon Avon - my mum's side of the family live there. Not far from Birmingham/Rugby/Redditch. I've not explored it too much but its nice and quiet, maybe a bit too quiet (where are the clubs?!)

I'd say solihull too. Leicester is a bit more scummy.

Solihull is close to main town centre (Brum / broad street) and Solihull on the night out is good/safe.

I used to live in Stourbridge as a kid and don't remember alot as I was 4 but we got burgled(sp) several times. As for Birmingham Aston, I went to their uni open day last year and someone was stabbed on campus so most of it was closed off. Funnily enough I didn't apply..

The further away you live from town the better. But as a general area, there is alot here.

It's rumoured that Solihull is very snobby... but there are affordable places here too. Make sure you stay on the Solihull side of the Cov road (A45) the other side (Sheldon, Chelmsley wood etc) Is a little rougher :y:
