Ballack, Essien, J cole, SW Phillips, Malouda, John Obi, Deco and Lampard

Not enough midfielders imo.

Old man phoned me on way home.
'Major chelsea update at 5.'
'Will only be Lampard'
'Nah they is alot of hype, must be a signing'

Get home turn on Chelsea TV. Lampard in a dodgy coloured suit. Great lol.

Its a 5 year deal. What he originally wanted.

He wanted 145k a week for 5 years. But Chelsea wouldn't give that at first. They only wanted to give a 4 year deal.

Hasn't said what hes on but its a 5 year deal

Yowzers. Wonder if Jose told him to stay.

Either that or Scolari has guaranteed him first team football...

He was always going to get first team football at Chelsea though.

Jose said hes given up this season on trying to get a deal with him. So doubt he would of said stay.

Hes just said that with his old dear popping her clogs he just needed time over the summer and spend time with family rather then bickering about a deal. Doubt that is fully true tho lol

Robb

That could be true but he was gonna stay for this season anyway. Signing a 5 year deal meant nothing.

Theres gotta be something someone knows. I dont doubt Lamps as a player, he has more than proven himself at times but Chelseas midfield is too strong. Too many players now that expect first team football. Its gonna end in tears.

Fo'sho....

Its the same when signing for any big club with big players. Its a make or break.

How many players have left for spain to the big clubs and fallen on there arse.

'Meh' barely scratches the surface of my indifference to that news.

I'm incredibly bored of the premiership and the various showponies that play in it, 'slavery' is not getting paid over £100k a week to play football.

The sooner the bubble bursts the better.

Its gonna be like the England team but on a bigger (worse) scale. Everyone wanting to play and the team being fitted around who wants to play and maybe not neccessarily who plays the best. Which I can only see being a bad thing for Chelsea.

Ballack proved himself at the Euros, as did Deco.

Could see maybe a 5 man midfield, Deco, Lampard, Ballack in the centre with maybe Joey and SWP on the wings? Then lone man Drogba upfront giving a midfielder a bit of freedom. I have no idea. I havent seen any Chelsea games so far this pre-season...
