Idle problems/stalling while driving.

My girlfriends 1.1 Forte has been having a lot of trouble idling. It stalls if not given gas when starting up the car. It's also started having problems even once the car has got going.

Today it stalled whilst changing from 2nd gear to 3rd. The rev counter just went down and the car died.

Anybody know?

Sounds like the idle control valve, Same thing happened to me when mine went, Come of the gas and revs just go down to 0 and die.

Try taking it off and giving it a clean with some carb cleaner, Not sure where it's located on a 1.1 tho.

i had this problem with my corsa turned out to be injector rail

I have this problem with my VTR it is definatly the idle vaulve try taking it out and cleaning it with carb cleaner.
