but then it gives a matte orange peel look, i think you will need to laquer it to make it shiny

Use the tint spray it will give a shiny finish, then polish them a few days later to shine them up even more

Yea I'm planning on doing this aswell. My friend just bought some black tint spray from motorman, not sure if he used the lacker. But police pulled him over and said they couldnt see his brake lights so made him get standard ones fitted, taken to a garage and they had to approve it with a letter which he then had to take to the police station lol

I used the tinting spay you get from motor world for like £11 ish.
If you take your time and do about 5 coats and let each coat dry properly will end up like my old ones...

It is illegal to fully tint the rear reflector but if you look closely you can see a strip that i havnt tinted ;) after the first coat i put a bit of masking tape over a section of the reflector and did the following 4 coats...was pulled by the police a few times and never said any thing about the rear lights because the reflector was still there :y:

It was lowered tooo much lol. It was on the bumbstops on the back soo iirc thats about 100+ (correct me if im wrong)

thin coats, don't make them to dark, take tom toms advice with the reflector and dont put to much laquer on them, if they are way to shiny you can pulled for that to, good luck

id personally buy the smoked rear jewell lights, can find em for bout £30 on ebay,
Look so much better than the tacky sprayed look.
Plus they are "LEGAL" where as sprayin the lights are not.
