Macaveli's 1.1sx Progress Thread *Update 21/10/08 Vt Kit*

Well as per usual i have been on here for a while now and never got around to starting a progress thread so here i go.

I got the car for my 18th birthday thanks to my mother.....:homme:

I havent really done much to the car yet as i am saving up to do a few little bits here and there but so far i have:

Smoked my headlights.
Sprayed chevrons black and removed little slats from front grill ( dunno why tho doesnt look any different)
Tcut my rear badges.

The car came with 13cm speakers in the parcel shelf so i put them into the front doors.

Then I filled the gap in my parcel shelf with some old 6x9's ( dont shoot me for having them i will be getting rid once i have a sub)

Oh and Depinned my Doors.

Got hold of a VT Gear Gaitor and some random gear knob from local scrappy for a quid haha(cheapskate i know)

Looks like a nice starting point for you mate, well done on starting to get the stickers off, as mentioned get the stripes off too ;)
dewiper, lower and some white alloys complete colour code of bumpers etc :y: would look splendid.

Also is your rear bumper dented slightly? looks like its taken a little bump on the backside haha

urm just popped the blanking plate off where the map light is in some Saxos and then unscrewed the sunroof winder then just did the regular prep and just sprayed them with some black spray paint, still havent got around to lacquering(sp)them tho.

Where abouts in Northants you from jp?

yeh it dont look too bad i keep debating whether or not to do the main part but dunno if it will look out of place due to having gray headlining..

Bought an exhaust off of Egay, i like the sound of it but it looks out of place and wakes up my next door neighbours baby so i took it off for now :(

not sure been told it coul be a piper backbox but not 100%, and i had them off as i needed a new set.

Just remebered, when i got the car it had a ghetto style CD player when you eject the CD it shoots out like the old tape decks

i got a picture somewhere but just found it funny the way it ejected the CD's

when you took it off, did you just straight replace it with the VT gaiter and pop the knob on the top?

Iv been thinking of doing the gear shift and hand brake with new stuff to colour code, but dont want to buy something that doesnt fit and then not be able to get the old gaiter back on.

Im not sure on my plans yet im just doing bits here and there until i decide on a final plan, with the gear gaitor i just pulled the old rubber one off and cut the plastic piece off from the top of the gear stick then put the VT gaitor on which just clips down as it has a plastic ring on the inside and then just put the gear knob on.

I will have a look in the local scrappy next time im in there and ill let you know.

Finally an update:

I went to the local scrappy on friday and picked up a full Vt kit minus one sideskirt and its all posi blue :) so i fitted the front bumper the following night and then on the saturday i ended up going into the back of somebody.

Was my fault but he said it was his and didnt want to claim :) but i went into him as i couldnt see properly as the sun was glaring on my windscreen and i had no visors in as i was trying to fix a leak. Driver in front was slowing down for a roundabout that has a zebra crossing just before it and he put his foot down to go and straight after taking off like a nutter slammed his brakes on as someone was on the crossing that he didnt see i braked and probably skidded about 2 car lengths into the back of him.

No damage to his car but my slam panel was fucked and needed a new passenger headlight.

Anyway rather than writing even more its now all fixed just need to adjust headlight slightly and my Vt bumper was untouched.

Since then i have fitted my rear VT bumper and i am now waiting for pay day on friday to get some tiger seal and other bits so i can fit my arches.
