I never entise people to race, i simply commented on a video where some fool posted that an EP3 would dick on a dc5 jdm as standard.

I simply replied this is not the case and dc5 jdm until the fd2 came out was the fastest standard production car produced.

Then i got a pm saying this.

i would but am not into straight line racing, i find it ok to watch but not interested in fucking my clutch, rather spend an extra £70 and have a day on a proper track :D

i have told him to stick it on one of my rally tracks though haha i am no where near a pro rally driver, but if he comes back with some bullshit like he owns a supra am 99.2% sure al dig on him on a full on rally track, he will be scared to scratch his paint init.

Yeah... the demographic for a Type-R driver is definitely different to the 'average' Honda driver... tbh I just don't know how the younger folks afford the insurance, what the hell do you do to actually get insured on them? :S

Anyways, the CTR isn't a patch on either the ATR or the ITR... so for now, you're still a rare breed in your Accord. Nice car you got there btw, thumbs up all round :y:

You're after an EK9 aren't you Steve? Import insurance will be massive lol. I looked at getting an EK9 but after looking at insurance I thought.. ermm.. nah.

I'm with Admiral, they're by far the best I've found for insuring these jap mobiles.

Evolution- thanks mate, yeah insurance is alot, but if the car's what floats your boat, its worth it ;). I drove a 2005 Facelift EP3 Civic at my local dealer a few days ago just to compare, they're VERY good but I still prefer my older Accord. Mines more brutal when it comes on VTEC, the EP3 is a bit more civilised :y:

EP3 0-60 is 6.6 whereas the DC5 is 7 seconds apparantly. So the EP3 should be quicker off the mark (just) but the DC5 has 20bhp more so it'd pull it back and go right past the Civic.

Isn't really anything to understand. EP3 and DC5 etc. are just the model codes that they give their cars. And JDM is Japanese Domestic Market.

DC5 = Integra Model

Integra would be heavier than the Civic, hence the extra BHP not really meaning anything as all that is doing is pushing the extra weight up the road!

If the EP3 is in JDM spec they're 212bhp anyway.
DC2 is 220 or something similar. So a JDM EP3 would be quicker than the DC5, but in UKDM spec I think the EP3 might be a bit slower. :)

I hear the DC5 isn't that great 0-60mph, something like 7 seconds dead which is a tad dissapointing on paper, if you see the vid they have a bit of trouble getting the power down but after that they're strong all the way. And tbh a DC5 doesn't need to prove itself with a 0-60 launch, on track they can punch well above their weight.
