erhhh... the light will go off!?! hehe!
once the abs light or any light (airbag, etc...) comes on, shouldnt you take the car to citroen for them to reset the warning lights!?!
hi gang
well i posted this a while back and only just got round to sorting it out.
ok took it to citroen on monday to have it plugged in to find the fault/s and turns out x2 rear sensors have shot it,so i decicded i would replace them myself as citroen were wanting silly money £270 all in!!. anyway both sensors set me back £111.
fitted them today and the light is still on!!! phoned citroen and they said you cant reset the ecu by unpluging or disconnecting the battery smileys/smiley5.gif <<think that might be rubish so they said leave it for a few days and if it doesnt sort its self out smileys/smiley5.gif then you will have to bring it back to have the ecu reset if it still doesnt cure smileys/smiley19.gif.
my question is do you think the sensors were fine before having them replaced as they said it just needs resetting smileys/smiley13.gif dont know who to ask as its a main dealer sort of part and other garages dont have a clue what i'am talking about.
ps sorry for the bad english smileys/smiley17.gif
all sorted smileys/smiley4.gif the ecu must of needed a little time to reset its self and realize no faults anymore.
left her for about 4hours and the light went off first time smileys/smiley20.gif i fired up.
hehe dont need citr smileys/smiley8.gif en any more hehe
ps citroen were wanting £160 to do this and i did it in 2hours haha no flys on me no super fly.
off to spend some of that saved money on a few beers smileys/smiley15.gif
i have been through to citreon today to have mine on the machine and my back drivers side is buggered. they gave me the quote for sensor and fitting and it came to £88.26 all in.
the citreon you went to must be ripp of merchants. it cost me £30 to get it on the machine.
the garage at the top of my street is going to do it at half the cost of what citreon charge. i would do it my self but they are a bugger to get of on the back. when i tried to take them of to clean they would not budge.
yeah sounds like citroen were trying it on it was £38 to have mine plugged in £111 for parts and the rest labour charge £160!!
they did say you wont be able to do it youself which really upset me as well who do they think they are saying that?? smileys/smiley7.gif oh well
i didnt have a problem getting mine off but i had to destroy the old ones to get them off. big hammer and adjustables did the job. new ones in bobs you uncle.

ive had 2 sensors go so far one at a time, all i did was unplug the sensors and measure the resistance of the sensors with a multimeter i was getting a reading of 0.01 with a good sensor and 0.00 with a fucked 1 saves having to pay for diagnostics! there fairly simple to fit. and to reset the abs light all i do i drive along and skid then the abs notices it can work kicks in and the light goes out! hope this helps
