the last change of keeper is june 08.....its only august now....so wondering why that is???

also that askmid.com said there is no insurance on the car at the moment but when i rang up for the car the guy said its not taxed but he can tax it for me as he is still insured on the car????

you can tax a car with just the green slip off the log book

dont need to be insured on it as far as im aware

Yeah get tax whapped on, is it MOT'd?

HPI check it, it isn't free but worth doing.

Wouldn't look to much into the last change of keeper, could be for many reasons - probably query that when you go to look at the car?

Just make sure you check the car properly, for any damage or poor running. Try and get someone to go with you who knows what to look for on used cars.

Probs transferred insurance to his new car but still has the certificate of insurance for the car you are looking at buying?

Thats the problem with going to the Post Office to tax its just a visual check and in their eyes it would be insured!

Wouldn't look too much into the change of keeper either as I change my cars every few months but make sure you look out for any major problems just in case he is selling it for a reason (i.e engine about to let go or somet)

1.3 engine is wank tbh.

I had one briefly (took as a cheap part ex against a Mondeo I was selling) and they are slow, noisy (classic ford tappy noise derives from this engine) and they ain't particulary economical. Same engine as in the Ka's as well.

They do the job, if you want a cheap A to B car and they are a piece of piss to work on - I swapped the engine over when I blew the original in a few hours. Don't expect it to be quick though and it WILL sound tappy when you look at it - nothing wrong with the engine its just how they sound!

As for the price, knock him down - I paid £100 for my P reg 1.3 LX last year with 2 months tax and 4 months MoT and apart from blowing the engine (me ragging it was the cause) it was an OK car.

Personally I would be looking at the 1.25 16v Zetec, however.

My old one:

wat i am looking for is a cheap runaround just for the 1st yr of driving....till i get a bit of experience.....then i will be looking to buy a better/faster car........ i wont be boy racin it at all (well girl racing)as ive got 3 kids lol!

just something to get from a to be at the mo!
