how long would you usually work in a new job for before you decide if its right for you or not?

started a new job there 2 weeks ago workin for a website advertising company, basically i just feel like its not for me.. for starters this will be the 4th day in a row im in the office on my own and the boss and other guy i work with are upstairs in different rooms, they very rarely come near me during the working day (once of twice if im lucky) and just seem to leave me to my own devices most of the time with no guidance.. i dont expect to be spoon fed but at the same time they know i dont know how alot of things work etc but dont explain to me before hand.. also the other guy i work with has asked to borrow money off me 3 times in the 2 weeks ive only known him and its making work quite ackward for me.. in a way i wanna tell him that hes making me feel uneasy but at the same time i feel this would make the situation even more ackward.. im just so cunfused.. what would you do?

nothing will change unless you tell someone, it could be for the better or the worse just depends whether they will put the effort for change. if not.. get another job whilst working there and switch over to another company.?

I got a job, knew from 1st day when I went home crying I wasnt going to last lol... ended up lasting 2 weeks before handing in my notice!

You need to try and look at the job aswell as the people you work with.. Is it something you are going to like doing? Im sure if thats the case then if you had a word with someone the people situation could be improved?

Does your boss seem approachable?

If so, I'd sit down with him. Explain your concerns and see what happens. However, if he isn't then I'd consider looking elsewhere. In my opinion, every boss should be approachable as it's best for team morale, for you to be happy etc.

I was unsure about my new back in May as I had come from an accounts team with 200 people at Morrisons HQ to a team of 15 - culture shock.

i'll use today for example.. if a customer hasnt paid us.. reminder letters need to be sent to them.. as ive only started im unsure as to who has and hasnt paid etc and its not the easiest thing to check.. their system is quite ackward to use.. he just basically said oh send a letter to this this and this person and in future your going to have to be doing all this yourself and went backupstairs to his office

I changed jobs. Had alot more perks, was closer to home, more money etc.

But it wasnt for me. I gave it about 3months. My old company asked if i wanted to come back so i did.

I used to wake up in the morning and hate leaving the house. Sometimes i look back and think maybe i should of given it longer. But i think 3months was enough.

It was the same when i orginally joined this company. I was unsure for about 1 month until you get to know people.

bit of an update... my old boss' son runs his own business literally 10mins from my house (2secs away from my gym which is a bonus!!) and is lookin for someone to do pretty much the same job role ive taken on here in this job.. so rang my old boss and said could he tell his son im interested in the job which he sed he wud and ive also sent in a cv to the company.... so fingers crossed!!!

with the job im currently in.... the fun continues

payday was monday there... ive been working here since the 15th and the boss said he'd pay me by cheque untill he got my bank details sorted and guess what.. still no cheque.. no chance of it today either as ive been left in the building on my own to run the department by myself doing 3 job roles..... if there was a server crash or something major happened.. ive no contact numbers NOTHING... worst run business ive ever worked for...
