View Full Version : LEON Cupra for me this time..... Possible mods p2

For those of you who know me, you'll know i've been around for a while and for those that don't,
HI! I'm Oz, and have a bad taste in shirts so people tell me.
Owned two saxo VTRs, one now owned by Azzy on the site, and the other by Oli_k. Both lovely cars and have been a pleasure to own.
The wife and I just got married, and plan to have Dogs and Sprogs. So have put the 206 HDI up for sale....See here (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171926). So whilst we sell that, we dreamed of a new car. And then bought it!
A few mishaps like, a blown turbo hose whilst test driving it, no MOT much to the owners confusion, and a problem with delivery/pick up time posibilities and the car was ours. Dirty, but ours.
So.......
Seat Leon, CUPRA, 1.9TDI, 04 plate, 77,000 with Full service history.
And she is a complete beast. Eats up the road, rips of your face and just spits it all out of the twin pipe rear end.
6 hours whoreing the beast on Saturday and this was the outcome.
Washed and dried
Wheel arches cleaned
De tarred
Claybarred
Wheel wash
Washed again
T-cut a few places to colour the stonechips
Polished Whole car
Metal polished
Rim sealant
Tyres high gloss shine
Nano Waxed
Full interior valet
Bouquet Magic Tree added

BOSH!!!!!
Plans are likely to be;
*tints,
*wheels
*possibly lowering.
No remap, not worth it with miles and speeds we do. The age old economy versus Performance malarky. Will also be in contact (again) with James about some detailing of the paintwork.
Thoughts and comments welcomed!
Good times.

Luuuurvly! Looks like you did a good job cleaning it as well. Get used to hating how it looks when dirty and wanting to lick it when it's clean :y:

i have a quoted figure by awesome gti, of 190bhp with a remap for mine and still returning around the same mpg.
oz_borne
1st September 2008, 22:11
Yeah i know that a remap will only ahve an effect whenyou really measure the weight of your own right foot, but to be fair i don't want more power right now.
And in the time i owned my Ibiza, with 156 bhp i never once needed, or wanted more (and still beat Si round silverstone in it)

Will never have a fully standard car mate. Not even my other car is standard......
MY 1.2 Nissan Micra SUper S!!!
The pics show how dirty the roof was when i picked it up!" Now installed sony head unit, 10 cm speakers and 6X9s but battery is not heavy duty enough for the amp!!!
Viper diesels are great as long as you have a turbo to speed them up buddy.

Did you get my Pager message about whoreing the car?
I understand there's a different bunch going this time. And i liek the idea of two groups. But what with School and all that, it's hard to have the time to help organise and take part in said event!
If i could get K to come with, then it could be a right little jaunt.....but nah!

IMO you need something else blue on the car... As the blue looks slightly out of place... personal opinion.
Tints - yes for sure.

Tints - yes for sure.I'd agree with Ant... With mine I did yellow badges and calipers. The blue needs something else with it but I think its a great idea :y: also do it electric blue imo

11th September 2008, 16:15
paint work needs seein to from that pic!
that looks cool i think, get a smoked side repeater tho, clear just look odd imo
clean plates as well, totally plain
i dont think it needs any more blue on it, cant really do anything else other than mirror caps and badges, think that would look daft
oz im at the ring this time, its gona be a whole new ball game!
oz_borne
13th September 2008, 14:29
MAtt, you're right paint really needs lookign at in the future. After the winter though imo. some serious chips in the front and that'll mean leaving the car with someone for a while.
Had a £250 quote for whole front end tidy up which i'm happy with. Will look towards March me thinks before spending cash on it....to get rained on.
So.....we did the whoel tinting thing!
Guy from Top Tints, Chris came this saturday at 12. Spent 2 hours lovingly removing the windows (that move) and applying 50% to the front and 35 to the rear. Got no reciept of anything but for £180 it's fantastic! (must get a reciept!!!!)
He cleaned all the windows and put the film on outside first....to cut....and then stuck it inside and blow dried with a heat gun. Was fun to watch.
SAD!!!!!!!!!!!
but loving the look now.

Looks good!
Love the plans you have! :D
oz_borne
21st September 2008, 18:15
Those wheels are sexual 180! but not for my car!
And if it's good enough for one White saxo at Trax who won best on show on Saxp stand then it's good enough for moi.......
The saxo had white reflective strips on his wheels, so i bought some blue stuff.. Twas annoying to put on but cheap enough and will be slightly different!

21st September 2008, 19:53
not keen ozzy but if the wheel was sprayed black ;)
use the money from the pug for the team dynamics...
also, talk to me about your old ibiza. some the car up for me as im soooo fucking tempted by one...
craig180
21st September 2008, 20:07
As Jay said would look a million times better if the wheels were black
Tupps
21st September 2008, 20:12
Blue on the wheels looks shit imo
Tints really suit it though
White wheels ftw
oz_borne
21st September 2008, 20:14
It's all a process like....you have to go down a route and iron out any problems. The black wheels will come, i just have to bide my time.
Jay - Ibiza...... sexy with pure power not to be laughed at. Style that out classes the saxo, but it's nowhere near as easy to modify. And your budget needs to be big on petrol.

i really want one ozzy
are they that bad or did you just have a heavy right foot ;)

21st September 2008, 22:06
Tints I like alot ...
Not a fan of the blue rim around the wheels ... I think they look alot better without.
