Stereo Wiring

Hi and Help...
I have a '97 saxo vtr and recently it was broken into...they stole the cd player etc ect but the knob's clipped the wires instead of unhooking it....they're all very strange colours to me so does any one know which colour is what (power, earth etc) so that i can wire in my new cd player.....HELP!!! thenks

im not sure what the colours mean but thats bad that mate! did you not have a cd player where the fasia comes off??

No smileys/smiley13.gif just got open wires hanging out....i've easily split the wires apart...speakers and that just left with four wires and i ain't sure which one is which...

you got a multi meter or bulb tester mate? thats the easiest way to find

one will be earth, one will be ignition lvie and the other permanent live

red will be the power, black ground, yellow memory and blue can be remote/ariel on some cars wouldn't have thought the sax has this i can't remember i think what iam saying is right but really someone will have to be there to understand

standard loom isnt normaly colours though

some times it will has on the actual wires what they are but depends how far they have cut them would. best to get an eletric tester then it will be very easy

nasty job, my mate done it on his took ages, id tape them together rather than block connectors cos all the block conectors wil take up alot of room behind the stereo and it mite not all fit in :S

thats one good thing about the saxe there is shti loads of room behind the stereo absolutely sheds of room

i'd be soldering them rather than taping them, unless you want to be taking it out and re-taping them every few weeks.

When I bought my saxo it came with a owners manual which showed what wire did what including speaker + and -,try to lay your hands on one of these.Or,if you go to a citeron main dealer and talk to them REALLY nicley,they might gine you a print out from another book.
