Halfords are w*nkers - I rang them for some bolts for my universal wolfrace alloys with spacers so I needed the longer ones - £67 for just 16 bolts plus up to 7 days delivery...

I popped down a local/ friendly but pervy garage specialising in tyres and alloys, £23 for 16 bolts, lock key and spacer rings and I even got a free bag to take them away that day in and they offered me free of charge fitting - job done...

Maybe it was someone covering the department, someone passing and answered the phone? Maybe they were going to get someone to help but you hung up the phone.

Maybe they sell large amounts of 'thinners' when selling stock. He maybe full aware you wouldnt require it with the order you had. Talking to him like that just made yourself like a prick imo.

You sounds a rude person in general. I see how venting your anger out on a saxo forum would help though.

your correct. having worked at halfords i know that anyone answers the phone and then the call is passed on to the correct department. this is to stop people waiting on the phone for ages while its ringing and ringing. if you want help in the future, ask for the correct department first.

they dont do waterbased paint anyway.

actually they do sell a lot of decent stuff.

OZ super t's, ultraleggera's, lots of top quality ICE including a lot of the latest alpine equipment. alpine flip screen worth about £1400. worth stealing i think.

i wouldnt buy stuff there though as the prices are too high but i still get discount so i get quite good prices, especially on trade.

for example the other day, needed some indicator bulbs. should have been £2.49. i paid 48p

What was your problem with them mate? I work for one of them and i think tbh both of them, there product knowledge isnt great and customer service could be a lot better just wondering what your opinion is and what you were asking.

Yeah spot on reply ... Still working for halfords I'm always asked to answer the phone for other departments if they're busy, even if I know nothing about the customers question. I'll do my best, it's just polite ...

Trade discount is awesome ... as you said bulbs are under 50p and I can service my car for like £30.

Alot of the products sold are very good ... the Halfords own brand tools, Pressure washers, Chris Boardman range of bikes, items like jacks and axel stands and of course alot of the ICE.

As for the comment about the Wolfrace wheels bolts ... Halfords don't keep that kind of thing in stock ... how is the company meant to keep every type of wheel bolt for each manufacture of wheel and car in stock?
