Ideally after a clio 182, as they seem to be around that price and appear to be good all round.

Would like all the extras like climate control etc, so has to be a modern car.

Have been looking at fiesta ST but dont know if I like it.

Any other ideas?

Build quality is excellent, i have nothing other than a saxo to compare it to tho!! All round it's a much much better car than a saxo imo safer...newer...more reliable... better quality and i've also found that it's cheaper to run than my saxo was!! :err:

They are all decent cars man. Just depends what you want them for.

Lets sum it up

Civic type r - Looks like a twat van for special kids...needs ragging to get the best
Teg - Born to be driven hard and well....the best by far
206 gti 180 - Peugeots crap attempted at trying to make a excellent hot hatch like the 306/106....might as well buy the hdi would be more fun
ST 170......Only decent thing about this is the colour...only made 1 decent st and you cant get it in this shape
Ibiza turbo - Have to be turned highly to get anything good from them....even lowered they dont do corners
Leon Ibiza - I like.... still cant do corners....the titanic come to mind
Triple 888 astra... if you like blue smoke....by a vaxhall...parts are stupidly price

SO

Teg is the one to get

EXCEPT

182 trophy/cup...now thats fun

I wouldn't buy a fez ST...ask anyone on here, I used to be utterly obsessed, and it was the only car I wanted....then I drove on to Scotland and had use of it for a week.

Now I would never buy one!

182 or Focus ST

[QUOTE=leeroybrown;2498156]Civic type r - Looks like a twat van for special kids...needs ragging to get the best A huge amount available, very decent reputation and good resale value. Look very sporty compared to their poverty spec. Girls love them.
Teg - Born to be driven hard and well....the best by far Getting old now, dashboard is shit! Very thirsty on motorways due to close gearing?
206 gti 180 - Peugeots crap attempted at trying to make a excellent hot hatch like the 306/106....might as well buy the hdi would be more fun Imo, very nice interior, again look sporty compared to the others in the range. Can be quite quick. Quite cheap parts
ST 170......Only decent thing about this is the colour...only made 1 decent st and you cant get it in this shape kind of agree with you mate. Suppose they make good motorway cruisers
Ibiza turbo - Have to be turned highly to get anything good from them....even lowered they dont do corners go's... ttshh if you buy a dump valve ;) Look the part compared to their pov. specs. (personally, i wouldn't
Leon Ibiza - I like.... still cant do corners....the titanic come to mind
Triple 888 astra... if you like blue smoke....by a vaxhall...parts are stupidly price looks the fucking tits straight out of the factory. Should hold value pretty well. Something a bit different

Different things for different people. To me the clio would be to small!

No they're not shat you dipstick :P

Not as good as the facelifts obviously, but Honda's Type-R range are probably the best for that money. Integra will give you unparalled fun though with that B18C engine. Accord Type R wil give you some saloon sophistication thrown into the mix also :)

Small hatch choice would be 182 Cup.

Surprise surprise :P

Depends on what he wants for the money, small nimble hatch with good economy, Clio 182 will fit the bill better than CTR, bigger hot hatch CTR will do it, coupe- Integra DC2. Accord Type R is just as much fun to drive but is just, well, bigger lol.

I'm not saying the Type R's are the be all and end all, some may hate them and thats fine, but at that money they're certainly worth considering, thats all :y:
