Isnt the stepper motor just the idle control valve..... thinki may have failed on this one like

starter?

back of the block, look under the inlet manifold, has a few wires going to it, there an earth attached to it or just above, also a thin sky blue wire going to it

if this isnt what your on about just look at fossies lil pic and feel better

Im sure the stepper motor isnt the starter motor like, my old GTi-6 had a stepper motor and you had to clean these often to sort the idle out............... again probably failed again

i think its on the inlet near the throttle body, may be wrong

The idle control valve is, when looking at the engine from the front on the right hand side of the throttle body with a connector coming from the back of it

yeah its the idle control valve im sure too, if so its on the right hand side of throttle body ill try and get a pic

Yesssssssss no fail

Fail for Matt tho thinking it was the starter motor
