Hello people, Some of you may know me already but for those who dont, im Sam. And Mr N is my car.

----------------------------------------------------------
As some fo you may know i used to have a posi blue flat arch. But that was sold for my new vtr.
I bought the R reg car with 60K on the clock for 1350. I bought it in april and had been garaged since xmas. This is what it looked like when i got it:
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/P4150050.jpg
So now the mods started. After having it a few weeks the standard backbox was rattling and on further inspection it had seen better days tbh. So I went for a Supersprint Race section and back box from Kam.
This went on without any trouble, and a few weeks after i kept on with the breathing mods with a Raceland Induction with Green Filter.
With the breathing mods started i thought i could turn my attention to other things. I had a few ££'s lying about so i invested in a GE Quickshift, and i really rate them, very easy to fit and reduce gear throw significantly.
Because of the colour of the car and being quite rare, i decided to keep the colour and go with a black / smoked theme. So instead of removing the rear badges and leaving some holes behind (Like i did with the last one :n: ). I got the old t-cut out and gave them a quick blast, and black they are.
Now nothing much happened for a few months due to a disticnt lack of funds. But i got about fitting my alpine headunit and some uprated Fli door speakers, but still retain standard grilles, for the factory fresh look.
*Trax Prep*
After hearing about trax on here i booked my tickets and pass, and threw all plans for the car out the window. I had to get the car looking a bit respectable for trax.
Now with the purschase of some spax 40mm springs. Me and my dad went about lowering the front. Took a while to say the least but all in all it got done. But the torsion bar is a different story. One side flew out but the other was stuck in there good. So with the help of a sledge hammer and a bar of steel that one was out. Now the car was lowerd there was only a few things i could do to make the most difference to how the car looked for trax.
Finaly i added some UK legal pressed plates from Dubmiester and it was ready to go.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/MRN/DSC_0237_231Big_Versioncopy.jpg
Just to point out, this car has been done on a shoe string budget because of me only being a part timer. And all the work on the car was carried out by me and my old man (probely seen us both at trax), From spraying to lowering, i owe him alot. The colour of the car really grows on you so if you dont like it tough.
Thanks for reading,
Bye for now

I have the one on ssc, I didn't know if I was happy or a bit gutted to see another one at Trax :p
Nice plans, I don't know if you saw mine on the ssc stand but it's currently stripped bare with a few more bits to get done on it, hopefully fairly soon. There are quite a few similarities between yours and mine.

Yeah, had one in for Trax, got seats, harnesses and half cage to go in soon. Bigger brakes, lines run inside and bias on the list to do along with some track rims, more power, bilsteins and the odd suspension tweak.
Get stripping it now, it's free :)

**Whats Next for MrN**
Well after the decision to go euro im thinking about what to do next, this month will see a new track rod end fitted and the tracking sorted (pulls to the left slightly), basically i want this car to be a mk1 version of Ben Chandlers old mk2 brown vtr on Schmidt wheels. Really not sure what to go for next, my plans for the car now are as follows:
Momo Steering Wheel
Smoothed Grille / Front Bumper / Rear Bumper
Leather Dash / Centre console / Vtr seat with custom headrests
Start Work on a new sound system with hertz components and sub
A Turndown tailpipe behind a smoothed bumper
Smooth out side logos
Custom number plate reccess?
Black roof (maybe a non sunroof version)
Respray bonnet to remove chips and get a bra for day to day driving
Get 60mm springs and dampers
8" wide Schmidt wheels? Or mabybe some branded steelies?
Smoothed Mk2 Spoiler
Black angel eyes
Maybe some custom leather work on some one off bits.
They are the major plans which i am aiming to be done by March / early april 2009.
So what do you lot thinkof the ideas and what should i get done first?
right then dude, lets sort this out from the beginning yea.
first things first, if you wanna be euro youve got to be really commited and when i say really i mean really, the amount of times i just thought fuck it because my plans have failed in my head and iv wanted to sell because of that or thought fuck it because i cant fund my plans is endless but i keep fighting back to prove myself wrong its immense so if you think you could put yourself through all that then get started.
as for your plans please think of other ideas i cant give you any ideas because then id be giving you my ideas lol but you need to think outside the box, the only thing id say go for is the "Momo Steering Wheel, Leather Dash / Centre console / Vtr seat with custom headrests, Start Work on a new sound system with hertz components and sub"
everything else needs a rethink to make your car individual i think too many people are copying chandlers look now and in order to have a unique car youve gotta be outside the box instead of following the trends, i mean if you parked mine and chandlers cars together 70% of the smoothing would be identical and i hate myself for it but thats about the only way of smoothing certain parts like doors side badges fog holes etc.
as for wheels find something slightly different or old school dont do the banded steelies everyones doing them atm, im only rocking steelies because i sold my 205 wheels cause i needed money, look around at other cars try and adapt some other wheels onto there or something like that or be gangsta and rock the old school audi trims that are smooth
exhaust try something different iv got a supersprint race system and i aint smoothing out the recess just because it looks good i like the pee shooter look.
bonnet bra yes iv got one but its only to protect my paint not for looks it only sees my car on dry days.
Smoothed Grille / Front Bumper front end you put up in the photo is identical to skorpions so try and change that a little bit to break the mould hes the only guy i know euroing a mk1 so give him his spot in the light and try and make your mk1 different.
60mm's not that low for the euro look im 60mm up front atm because of my mot but after that the coilovers will be slammed again and it'll be sitting on the floor yes its inpractical but youve gotta be dedicated to the look if you wanna do that look.
my only advise is keep the car as oem as you can, with some subtle smoothing and tidying up.
hope this helps you mate.

ive seen all the blood sweat and tears caused by lees car and i will agree with the stuff hes saying about it taking full comitment
no word of a lie ive talked him out of selling that car at least 10 times
and he still thinks it now sometimes
i think it could be a nice car but try and be unique with it
as lee said just copying the stuff youve seen doesnt allways work
im finding out atm that its going to be a lot of work to get a proper euro styled car done (im planning a 106) and getting it unique and to fit the style is hard
tbh euro cars arent practical really
and imo everybody is jumping on the euro bandwagon (woo im a hypocrite) and doing the same stuff
think a lil outside the box and your good
its like how yorkie smoother out his bumpstrips nobody had done that and it looks ace
come up with a few things like that and your golden

Bloddy hell lee thats an essay. Thanks for the advice, i have got a few little custome touches i want to add to the car to try and make it different but its very hard atm with alot of things allready being done, like as you said about the smoothing.
yes mate i am really commited aswell. been following the euro scene for a very long time now and know how much effort goes into it.
I dont want to make a carbon copy of Bens car just take a few styling ideas from it.
I would love to go down on coilovers but that will be fund dependant atm because it isnt somthing im looking to do right now maybe in a few months.
thanks for the advice it has helped
EDIT - Just going to keep it oem+ atmBut do fancy a fast road set up now
Danborambo - i sold the 1.4 (yes its a 1.4 flat arch lol) because i got a really good quote on a vtr with my ncb.

Exhuast wise i have the race system also but am looking to get a turned down end on to go with a smoothed rear bumper.
Really got to think outside the box atm, and for the record i dont like bra's for the "look", really dont get that, its only to protect the paint.
thanks for the advice it has helped

aha you sent me a pm asking my opinion i tried to help my hardest lol and shortest way but that kinda failed.
what i did was tried to work on everything else first then i started on suspension and iv left wheels till last well till the very last so far.
i worked on paint and smoothing first, then interior well technically i brought my gti leather while working on the paintwork etc, then i tidyed a few things up to make sure she stayed running right, then i started treating stuff under arches etc, then the other day i slammed it with the help of a few mates.
so yea wheels are the last thing aha iv already got my wheels to tell a lie there sitting in my shed but i like to wind people up so yea im telling anyone.
all will be revealed before show season.

And i allways say that ill buy somthing for MrN at least every month, Any one have any ideas on what little improvments i could make this month?
Already getting a new track rod end and getting the tracking done saturday as it pulls to the left, booked in for a service next month so no need to worry about that till then. Did ideally want a momo steering wheel and boss but dont know if im gona have enough. Hate part time jobs :wall:

First Detail
Woo finaly finished earlier today. Sorry i have no before pics and the after pics are very good as i havnt got hold of my d40 yet (xams prezzie).
Here goes:
Steps Taken are as follows in order:
Rinse with jet wash on low setting
Spray mix of Tar remover and degreaser (1:2) Around lower parts of cars and parts with sevire tar spots and tough grime including wheels.
Pre Soak With maxi suds before a slight rinse with a hose
Wash using 2 bucket method using megs gold class and a sheep skin mitt.
Rinsed with hose
Clayed entire car using megs clay bar and a mix of detail spray and water (50:50)
Wash using 2 bucket method using megs gold class and a sheep skin mitt.
Rinsed with hose
Dryed with microfibre towels
-Moved onto wheels while the last little bit was drying
Washed wheels with a microfibre mitt and megs brush, washed with megs gold class and a slight bit of degreaser mixed in to shift brake dust.
Rinsed with hose
dryed with microfibre and then waxed with dojo juice (wheels are painted so no alloy wax / sealant needed)
And some cheap tyre care stuff that i worked in.
Tackled the door jams / shuts with the same tar remover and degreaser as first used on the car and applyed with megs slide lock brush, then wiped off with an old microfibre towel.
Exhaust was treated with megs metal polish.
Now i cracked out the Kestrel DA. Working a panel at a time i started working on the bonnet with the finishing pad and softest cut polish but worked down to achieve results by removing swirl marks. Ended up having a quick pass with a cutting pad and power gloss polish then worked back up to a softer pad / polish combo to finish. I did this for the bonnet, roof and a few bad scratch / swirl marks on the car but found that most came out with a finsihing pad and medium cutting compound afetr a few passes.
With the kestrel i spread the polish on speed 2 then worked it in on speed 4 (speed 5 was used for very deep scratches but 4 was more than enough on most places), Then buffed off by hand with a clean microfibre
Overall the kestrel is very good value for money and is very good quality for a plug and play DA. Would really recommend to anyone wanting a good affordable DA polisher.
The i used Sonus SFX-3 as a sealent over the polish and applied that with a finishing pad on speed 3 (spread firstly on speed 2) as i didnt want to work it in too much at this stage.
After this i Applied Dojo Juice to the entire car by hand leaving it 5 mins before buffing off with a clean microfibre. ( only left some on for 3 mins as it was in the sun and i find that it drys out too quickly if left for the full 5 mins)
Then a quick coat of Sonus SFX-3 was applied by hand to door jams to keep the looking good.
Windows where then done with AutoGlym Glass Care which was worked in with a glass microfibre towel.
-The interior was given a quick wipe over with a damp cloth with a mix of detailing spray and water and carpets etc hoovered.
All bumpers were rubbed with Jack Daniels bumper car ointment. (Well some baby oil i put into an old jack daniels bottle because the other broke.
As a finishing touch i went around the bottom half of the car with a fine mist of chemical boys synthetic detailer, ive found this helps keep future tar spots at bay for a little longer (prob my imagination but i think it helps)
Well thats all my essay done, Pics always speak louder so here goes:

going to have a nice spec'd suspension then sam :D
will look alot better once lowered aswell bud.
will be checking back on this to see progress.. strayed away from the euro route aswell then mate?
needs some nice wheels too bud like black turini's or black ultra leggars would look mint with black wilwoods or hispecs behind them aswell man because its such an unusaully modded colour for the saxos.
keep up the good work sam.

Thanks for the good comments lee. Will actually be going higher than the 40mm its down atm. Will only be a 25mm drop because the suspension is a bit stiff.
Still love the euro route mate but only taking a few ideas from it, not going all out.

****Also updated plans****
Glad to say that after changing my ideas for the car like the weather last year, im on track and am sticking to my guns. Basically i want mr n to be very oem looking but have uprated interior / suspension etc. just to try and improve on what citroen have done already.
Not a track car - but has some nice suspension and a full interior
Not a "euro" car - but i am taking some ideas from that scene.
Plans to do before FCS are:
Fit smoked fogs
Smoked rears (maybe will keep standard though)
Smoked repeaters
Carbon mirror caps
Clear indicator bulbs
and get the bloody cam belt changed
Just a little list that wont cost the earth to get it looking right.
Then plans to do before trax will be:
Finish suspension
VTS wheels
finish and fit my interior (a few custom bits that im keeping quiet for that)
and possibly fit my custom front end that just need spraying
spray bonnet to remove stone chips.
Thats basically the plans up till september. Have got more plans for after that involve 4pots and more custom panels ;)
Atm im waiting to hear back form an apprentaship to be a rotary wing helicopter engineer and the apptrentaship money is double what im on now, so expect some good updates if i get it.
There we go, full update lol. Sorry if its a bit of a read but i wanted to let people know how im getting on with mr n and what the future has planned.
Thanks for reading

isnt wicked red but yeah, still undecided tbh, Would like to or even smooth it into the rest but still trying to keep with the oem theme, hence keeping the number plate recess textured plastic rather than smooth and painted.

Just read through the entire thread so it'd be rude not to comment :)
Really love the progress thats been made, I was intrigued when you decided that you wanted to euro, but the springs you've bought are immense 225lb? Thats nearly 100 more lb's than the spax springs.. comfortable interior should be on route :p
Still having a stripped out rear? Or was the noise just too much? Love the photoshop and I definetly think you should go ahead with it, Keep it up bud such a rare colour, I've only seen one other sax this colour and that was a flat arch in a bad way so keep them coming.

Thanks mate, Rear is all back in and its getting some comfy 106 leather this year along with alot of custom interior touches. Want to have good suspension and brakes and keep use of the interior as a nice place to be, trying to stay very oem. Also getting a respray the begining of next year to get red of all the car park dings and the immense amount of stone chips, was tempted to do her black but it would be a shame to waste such a rare colour so it will be the same colour after the spray
I'd stick with the R rims personally mate :) Or go for something proper different.
I do like the R rims but the new brakes i have planned wont fit under them. And i want to keep the standard very oem look aobut the car so S rims were my only option, but saying that i have been poking around for superlegies :)
smooth fogs looks pants imo
car is awesome though mate
Thanks mate, Im very fond of smoothed fogs and i havent seen any saxo try and do it without going downt the whole euro route. I want to give it a go, and be only down 25mm with a smoothed bumper, just to show it can be done. As ive said before, just trying to keep it oem with subtle smoothing and performance upgrades.
Thanks for the bump guys lol. Will be finishing getting suspension parts this month so expect a huge update at the end of the month when i fit it all, then it should handle like its on rails :panic:

While im here i thought id do a very minor update:
Silver Indicators
While flicking through some photoshoot pics the orange ones were standing out like a sore thumb. So got some silver ones through the post.
Went about replacing them, and what an easy job it is! No mk1 owner has an excuse for not replacing the normal ones now. So easy i thought id time myself putting the other one in. Lol.

This car is going to be a beast when it's finished!
Why thank you mr craig. plan to keep a nice interior inside aswell, just make it perform like a beast
hmm, been thinking today about whats next for mr n.
Want to move onto interior as wheels and brakes are fine for the time being. Here is where i want to take a few ideas from the euro scene but not go down that path if you know what i mean.
I could easily splash out on a plush install and retrim but thats not what this project is about. I keep saying to my self OEM+, the message im trying to get across is that a good car can be made without spending money on labour and having a pop yourself. I dont want this car to be standing out from the crowd, just blending in with some nice touches. Likewise im not out to capture any trophies, far from it, im making this car for me and doing the "style" i like.
Just some simple stuff which adds to the look and gives a quality feel. How does this sound:
Momo 280 wheel (euro inspired)
106 leather as you do
Re-trim the doorcards, Dash, boot build, headlinging
Black pillars with tweeters
gearknob and handbrake as you do also
regards
Sam
Suspension has been done!
Well the rear torsion bars need to be put a tad higher but im happy with it for a days work. Also we decided that putting rear beam bushes on may be a job for another day as it was getting late by the time we got round to them. No pics as of yet as there still on camera. Front is up to -25mm (doesnt look far from standard tbh).
Took it out for a drive and firm isnt the word. More like solid! Bumps are a bit of a issue but it goes round the twistys like its on rails. so pleased with it! Really really good set up :y:
Pics later or tommorow, depends how long im at work for.
********Edit - sorry for no pics yet, just been out enjoing it. God its harsh though, not reccommended on road going cars (which this is) but im trying to convince myself its worth it. Rather than taking it all off again to fit softer spings and dampers and getting ride quality back again.
Not sure what to do with it as i want the inside to be a nice place to be aswell but is it going to be too harsh now? i dunno what im gona do*******
Thanks again for reading, comments welcome as allways

Handles amazingly well, but is very harsh on british roads. Keep telling myself its worth it though. Will be using this setup for a number of months and determining wether it will be better to sell them and get a more comfortable pair of fronts. Dunno yet but they are staying for the time being. Unless i get a very generous offer ;)
Next on the agenda is interior, looking for a mint set of 106 leathers, 280 wheel and am speaking to a high member of the retrimming and audio society at this very moment. A final decision will be made at fcs when i meet up with him in person. Anyone guess who im talking about?

cant work out if youve rasied it or not. cause the new spring looks lower, but the car looks higher in the last pic :S ??
Front end is higher mate. -25 mm instead of 40 before. Springs may be shorter but they are alot stiffer (like 100lbs stiffer) so when the cars weight is on them they dont compress as much as the spax did.

I not re-trimming the seats, keeping them oem and doing some special bits to the doorcards/boot/headlining. Maybe.
tbh ive been thinking and may make the suspension the last major mod to mrn before it goes to be replaced by something euro.
Will do the seats and soundsystem definatly (comps and amp them at least, really unsure wether to run a sub or not yet dont want ot put alot of weight on the rear), Then a 306gti6 brake upgade with vts wheels, then think about letting her go to a new owner sometime at the end of the year.
EDIT: No its not ben :)

Little update - which could turn massive!
Just got back from a meeting at work. Basicaly my hours have been cut drasticly. (from just over 40hours a week, to about 16!!!) Im livid and have to work out my finances now to see if i can keep MrN
Worst case secnario would be that she is up for sale in a few weeks, but i could take her off the road for a while. Got a few more meetings at work but nothing is certain, just glad to have a job atm. Will let everyone know what is happening as soon as i know.
Was also selling the suspension but this predicament has caused me to put all that on hold for the time as i dont want to waste time and money doing more to it if its going to have to go.
Id like to appologise to Wayne as he had prov bought most of my suspension when this happened. He's a great guy and hope doesnt think ive messed him about. Owe you a drink soon wayne.

good thread so far bud! Looks like you have finally settled on the suspension!
You said about fitting mine for me, can you pm me and we can discuss?
Settled on suspension? never! The springs and dampers are up for sale for a more road orientated pair now im using it more over bumpy roads. Probely an apex 35 kit atm. Heard good things about it and for the price i cant really go wrong. Also keeping all braces and bushes etc, so handling should give a happy medium of cornering and comfort now.
Pm me about suspension fitting :y:
looking awesome mate, really cool, not surprised the springs are feeling pretty stiff!
Thanks mate, Springs are very very stiff so like i said before im going to change them for somthing a bit more road orientated. Id love to keep them but the way things are going atm im using the car alot and im not really getting the full potential from them. Was fun while it lasted and its all a learning curve.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a quick bump to say that ive gone through the thread and tidied up some of my posts that were mis-matched on what i was doing with the car. First post has seen the most editing, now with a current spec list that ill update when new bits arrive. And some more recent pictures.
As for the car, im keeping it. Springs and dampers are being changed for an apex 35mm kit because the car is used alot over very harsh roads and im not really getting the full potential from them. But i am keeping bushes and braces etc.
Then i can finaly call the suspension finished (ish) and move onto other stuff. But i think with a few bushes and mounts and right spec tyres the apex kit can make a great fast road set up.
Thanks again for reading.

yeah, and slam panel (but under slam panel is ment a bit but could be bent back. Front bumper is fine by the looks of it though. May need a new radiator as its been pushed back onto the manifold
Who did you hit?
As in what damage to the other vehicle?
They had a dented rear bumper. Waiting for them to phone with a quote of the repairs. that way if its not too expensive ill pay it and repair mine myself

Ouch. horrible those moments when theres just nothing you can do.
I think insurance would write that off anyway so u'll probably have to get it done private.

Has been a bit shit, but hopefully it'll be all together tommorow evening. I know you liked the car craig, sadly these things happen. luckily im ok and its not a write off.
So should have a silver front end soon lol. then in for the respray asap. Luckily the front bumper is ok, slight crack in the side and a scratch in the black plastic but very much salvagable, looking to get some bumper mods done in the future anyway, also got a wing sitting in the shed which is lucky, but its posi blue lol. could be a comedy car with all these different colours.
dont write me off from trax just yet. Funny thing is i bought my tickets before i set out.

Glad you've got all the parts now MrN. Will look forward to seeing the car at trax after all the hard work you're putting in to get it looking top notch again ;)
Not a bad price neither! I hope the owner of the car you hit lets it slide, or that it doesn't set you back too much :)

Right, just had a call from the person i hit. They got quotes for £690!!! Had a look at the car aswell and its just a dent! I was happy to pay them privatley but thats a bit excessive. Decided they should claim on my insurance for it. Ive fixed mine privatley but ill just have to live with the extra monthly premium i could get. Oh well its the reason why we have insurance.
On a happier note. my parts go to paint tommorow morning. Hopefully should have an update for you next week with it all back in one piece.

While im here ill giving everyone a quick status update. Parts went to my mate for paint today, dunno when they'll be ready but should'nt be too long now. Will give a proper update very soon with it all cleaned and put together.
Should be ready for trax pred, would idealy like to do a few more big mods before trax but this crash has pushed plans back a bit. Be sure to pop over and say hi though.

Havent really updated since after the crash so ill give a little somthing.
Insurance company have said that i cant mod my car anymore as they wont be covering mods when my insuance renews. So im starting to stock pile parts until march when it renews and i go with another company.
In the mean time this gives my the oppertunity to tie up all the loose ends on the car and have a big update in march.
Main things to address are the rear beam which is in desperate need of a rebuild which should be happening just after trax.
Droplinks and a few other suspension parts have been changed, and im also looking to uprate the engine mounts to spoox fast road ones soon.
Currently ive just changed the open air filter back to the standard in hopes to find the end of my rev sticking a touch when changing gear. This has also helped emmisions and i suffer alot less heat soak than before tbh.
Im looking to relocate the battery to the boot and route the airfilter over to the right of the bay in the future.
Also fitted apex springs and dampers to the front and still running my group n's at the rear. Has a nice nose down (40/25) stance now which im quite in love with. Also handles alot better on road with this setup. Very good fast road setup as the apex kit is alot firmer than i though :D
Not really much else to report. Except for this which ive been working on and needs to get sprayed before trax. Anyone guess what it is? Clue is that pred beat me to it by getting his finished first.
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/DSC00368.jpg
Erm... parts im stockpiling for march are along the lines of 4pots / wheels / alot of fast road interior goodies and some parts for a mega 16v conversion. If anyone is interested lol

Yeah its a boot trim. Smoothed off the hole in it and fitted a popper. Really easy to do mate. I got the trim from the scrappy for £3. Then just filler and fibreglass and a tad of patience.
Popper kits from ebay and the like arnt too bad either. really easy to fit.

Oh yes i bumped it good rush. Yeah im great dude.
Just stocking up on some parts atm. so im only tieing up loose ends now. Keep it clean and tidy till some bigger brakes jump on :) Also plans for 16v on their way :)

ok cool , can you make a thread how to do it or wud ya do it if so how much will you charge lol , how would i open my boot :|
MR_N
24th August 2009, 13:37
Boot works on a solenoid. Basicaly a little motor that sits inside the interior boot trim, (mine is where the central locking motor was) And it runs a cable to a switch that can be mounted anywhere in the car. mine is down by the gear stick but you can make it so it opens when you swtich on your rewiper (if you dewipered it)
Heres a vid of it in action: (excuse the wire, thats now hidden through the tailgate and along the headling)
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/th_P7190140.jpg (http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/?action=view¤t=P7190140.flv)
and the switch (will be moved in future but does the job there):
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/DSC00365.jpg
With the boot trim. All i did was cut a small piece of mesh to go inside where the lock was and placed some fibre glass matting over it from the inside. Then fillered over the top part. Then sanded back and fillered again to remove any small lumps (do this several times) Then primer it as it shows up more bumps to be removed.

Update before trax
Smoothed Boot lock!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2675/3877884938_7d90dd78c4.jpg
As the eagle eyed amoung you will notice the colour is a bit off, probely due to the fact the laquer we used didnt react very well as has got a sort of matt effect now :wall: :wall:
So still unsure if ill be rocking this or the standard lock for trax, depends how well i can polish it up, ill be sending the trim off to the body shop next week anyway to get it sprayed again.
See you all at trax, thanks for looking

Right peoples.
This thread is going slower than a stoned snail tbh.
All the updates and plans have changed more than the weather.
So, Im thinking this will be the end of this thread. But no fear! Ill be back soon with some better updates in a whole new thread. Maybe the next one could be a bit better layed out on my behalf with some definate plans for the motor. PLus the last few pages of this one have been a bit depressing.
I'll leave it up to the mods to decide wether this thread needs to be closed or to leave it running til it dies away.
Thanks for all the positive comments through the thread and keep an eager eye out for the new and improved thread of love.
Regards
Sam
