My little Saxo Thread.... - FAILED MOT. Not too bad in the end

Thought I would start one. I am gonna get a few bits up over the weekend.

hi ya just brought a new laptop yesterday so havent been on to add any pics but shall get sum up.....

Well here we go. Brought my car from my local Citroen dealer when I was 18. Use to have a P reg 1.1 before. Had that for 6 months then sold that to get my 51plate VTR.

It had one lady owner and done around 25,000.

Haven't got any pics of the car when I got it but it was completely standard but I'm sure you all know what they look like. I'll get a pic off my HDD and put a pic up when I'm home.

Yeah done a few bits. Really need to take some photos and get them up.

Finally found some pics.
Basically the first thing I did was a stereo install. You can prob see from the pic that the backbox has been changed. This was done after the stereo.

That stereo has now gone as I had a little accident as you can prob see. I am now planning a new one.

Car got lowered 50mm on Eibach sportsline shocks and springs & changed the wheels to these & fitted Morette headlights.

Car stayed like this for a while before I decided to have a change of look.
Got new wheels but I tried out a few others at the time as well as replacing the headlights with black angel eyes.

Upgraded the brakes all round. Got Black Diamond Combi discs front & rear with the Black Diamond Predator pads. Also changed the brake hoses to Goodridge stainless braided ones. It's so much better now.

Uprated brakes as mentioned before & lowered 50mm. Planning a new stereo install but it's taking ages.
BMC induction kit & Cituning stainless 4 branch manifold with sports CAT straight through stainless centre section and new back box.

Yes it is limo black in the rear. The colour is Icelandic Grey.

The system has been sold. I am planning a new one at the moment.
Yes the car was lowered at the rear but once the stereo was in it dropped even further.

Made a custom centre console and went for the Pioneer P88RS with pop out DVD screen at the top.

Looks good so far,but im not liking the rear arches or the rear lights.

The install looks pretty mental,the centre consol looks wicked and so dose the door cards did you build them yourself?

I haven't done the rear arches. Just have them lying around atm.

Putting a set of these in Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite 9-5-1 3way comps. (I'll take some photos of the speakers at a later date as they are out the way in the bedroom)

I can't actually remember how much the seats were as I have had them for a couple of years almost. You can get the seats for around £200 each plus frames.

Finally got round to posting pics. Had the boot smoothed. Also had a Dimma rear bumper fitted. Didn't want the number plate stuck on the bumper so I had a number plate recess cut and molded into the bumper from a Laguna. Got proper number plate lights as well.

The wheels are really dirty and it's too cold to go out and clean them. They look much better when they are cleaner.

Funny you should say that. I have the Dimma side skirts in my garage. I haven't decided what front bumper to get. Either a Dimma or I quiet like the Demon.

Gonna get the polished bit changed on the wheels as the shit weather we have here just f*cks them. Gonna keep the black and spray the polished/silver bits gold. Same gold as the Saxo gold if you know what colour that is. I need the paint code for this.

The weight didn't really bother me. It wasn't that bad. Just the same as driving with a mate in the back. I just fancied a change really that's all. Phoenix Gold discontinued a lot of their range and were brought out so it was hard to get extra / replacement bits.

I haven't fitted my new JL's yet. If your referring to the JL's in the picture at the start, yes they did push out some serious bass but it was mainly setup more towards SQ. My new JL's should be alot better. Just making the boxes for them now. Well not right now but as in.... well you know what I mean. lol :y:

They are made by ABC Design. I got mine from a local shop I use to work at on Saturdays so I got a bit of discount which helped.

I wasn't a huge fan of the old one. I didn't want to take the back seats out at the time so space was limited. Before that I had a floating amp rack in the middle of the 2 sub boxes. That look pretty good but have no pictures of it.

I haven't fully decided on how I want to new one to look yet.

Door builds need painting. Think I am gonna do them Saxo Bronze as that is the colour I want to refurb the silver bits on my wheels. There is alot of ice going in. Hopefully there will be enough room with the back seats out.

Car is off to the bodyshop this week end for a week and getting the door builds sprayed at the same time so I will get the pics up of them.

I got the subs for £400 each brand new. I get alot of discount from my local shop as I have brought lots of stuff from there in the past.

Door cards will be going back on in the next couple of weeks with he speakers in.

Got the car dropped off last night before it snowed. Pick the car up on the weekend.
Should look really good. I'll get some pics of it then. Hopefully the weather will be nice.

Got these to fit as well (mini indicators). Gonna smooth the original indicators and fit these. Changed the lens to smoked as it looks better.
Saw this pic and quiet liked it so thought why not.

Yeah thay will be back on the weekend. Decided to do them body colour. Everyone seemed to agree and the guy at the bodyshop said it will look strange if I did them in a different colour.

Out of hospital now after 2 and a half weeks. Had a right hemi colectomy. Very very painfull.

It because of my crohns and I am having a real hard time with it.

I collected the car on a Saturday but was so unwell I just left it then got taken into hospital the next day.

Tried best to show the roof off. Looks 100x's better. Roof is dirty as I was in hospital and car hasn't been cleaned. I will get better ones when I can wark and the car is washed to show it off.

The centre console is made from 2 original centre consoles with a extra single din space fitted and plastic welded together.

Yeah went for a 3way set up and that was the size the speakers came in for the ones I chose... lol

The black roof is a gloss finish. Not the greatest of pictures to be honest.

Would of had the speakers done by now but ran into a slight problem. Fitting 6-8 sets of 10gauge speaker cable through the doors into the car.

Gonna make up a loom or loom(s) and see how it goes once I have taken the doors off so I can have a proper look at the situation.

I wouldn't say loaded, I just have a good job that pays really well plus I know people in the trade. My girlfriends uncle owns Kuston Kolours http://www.kustomkolors.co.uk/

I wouldn't say it has set me back loads. Just lowered the car and full exhaust and induction kit pretty much like everyone else has done. It's only the boday work and the stereo install that makes it look like there has been tons of money spent. Mine you the speakers cost a packet.

The arches don't look flat it's just had the VT kit taken off.

It's gonna be the same colour but with a gold pearl over the top.
I went up the back of someone a while ago and the bloke who did it didn't do the best of job but can't complain as he died of throat cancer... bless him.

It's so all the panels are the same colour.

Fitted the new brace. Really need to clean the bay as it is really dusty from the bodyshop. Hopefully the Mrs will do it for me.....
