iv blew my 1.1 up :n: iv had the car for a couple month now but only been driving 2 weeks, its been misfiring a little bit but just thought needed new plugs & leeds as it wasnt bad, when i finished work last nite, it started ok but when i gave it a few revs its was banging and misfiring really badly, not knowing what it was i reved a little hareder to 30,000 revs and it just clapped out, tryed turning it over again and there was nothing. only the starter motor whining on....... so new engine next week lol

edit: so i rang the rac up, he told me that someone has changed the cam belt and not even tryed to line it up :wall: it is a quarter of a turn out!!! 500quid to sort it out at least they quoted me

im not to sure atm, i can pic a 1.1 up for less then 50quid, id like to replace with a 1.4 ideally but dont know it i will

yeah , you can get 1.6 8v cheap enough but you might have to upgrade everything else and get a new ecu

not sure tho its not my field of knowledge

id get away with a 1.4 but id have to change everything if i got a vtr, hubs, rear disks, front disks, gearbox, ecu. bit to much work lol
