2001 VTR Help needed PLZ!

Ive been after a certain vtr for a long time now and the owner has recently contacted me to say he is looking rid.

The car is 2001 with 77k

Bodywork on the car is mint and the interior and engine look to be pretty clean also,

The only problem with the car is that the MOT is up and is in need of work to pass it.

The things it needs is new cv joints and a new rear axle.

Where is the best place to purchase these parts?

And for the age and mileage of the car is it common to need to replace the rear axle? It has been lowered over 60mm at the back so the axle would obviously be under quite a bit of stress....

As much help as possible needed befored hard earned cash is handed over..

yes rear axles do sometimes need replacing after they have been lowered, you will be looking around the £175 mark for a decent one mate

Unless you replace the seals (or at least grease everything to fuck) on a used axle when lowering it, chances are it will let water in and you'll have knackered trailing arm bearings/beam pins in a year or two... costly MOT failure

Ive been gettin quotes of 150quid to fit the axle and cv joints.. 90quid plus vat for the joints and drive shaft...

And nobody has an axle near me..

The cars goin pretty cheap so it would be a shame to miss out

Go to your local Scrappy and see if there's an old rear Axel off a VTR.

should find one easily, there are that many saxo's off the road!
due to young idiots been in them thinking there paul walker LOLS.

Well if someone hada told me there was a gay section...

My local scrapyard got fines £32,500.. Turns out he wasnt even alowed to collect waste :S
