I'm wanting to get more into photography, now by the looks of it I get the lense converters for my Canon so I can use my Dads old lenses (see other thread).

Now I'd love to be able to afford a photography course, but I don't think I have the time and at the minute, I'm trying to save money to go on holiday etc.

Is there any books you recommend?
Whats best way to self teach?

Rep will be awarded.

Luke i would recommend buying the Michael Langford book 'Basic Photography' (you can preview some of it on google books here http://books.google.com/books?id=mj60n3uH4eMC&printsec=frontcover&dq=langford+basic+photography&sig=ACfU3U28he27XWfifJN7uj_3OEeXOBFUdQ)

It is a key text that i had to purchase for my BA so it goes right from the very basics up to quite a high theoretical level. It will help give you a better understanding behind what makes a good photograph as well

definately worth a read.

Cheers for that James that looks like a good read!

There is another book that i would recommend called - understanding exposures by Bryan Peterson. Thats a good read!

Practice practice and more practice Luke, just play about, adjust settings review the picture & histogram and see what happens.
Then post up on here if you have any queries this and talkphotography is great!
