I just spoke to citroen to get my car fixed as basically my keypad immobiliser just started working for which i dont have the code! :n: and they told me it would cost £550+VAT f**king shitroen being crap again!!!

can you not just rip out the immobiliser box? (excuse the ignorance i'm not 100% sure at all.. not even 25% :P)

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 11:02
no need to key in the code to unlock the ecu but the people i bought it from dont have it hence neither do i

surely guessing every single possible 4 digit combination is better than forking £550...

acemastr
22nd September 2008, 11:04
I agree Robb but that's 10,000 combinations :p could take him a few months

start at 0000 and go up to 9999

as said above, far better to do this than pay out £550!

Can you not just get another ecu?

car locks the keypad every 3 attemps for half an hour i have tried all the usual shit but its not working, the previous owner doesnt have it so i even tracked down the owner before thats next door neighbour as they were ex directory and asked them to pop a note through his door asking him to call me lol

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 11:08
Can you not just get another ecu?

the ecu's are coded to the car so another ecu wouldnt do the job :(

-Jason-
22nd September 2008, 11:09
Can you not just get the code from citroen?

Like you get the radio code card?

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 11:14
nope think about it is an immobiliser code if any1 could call citroen and ask for it they could be aiding in car thefts lol

acemastr
22nd September 2008, 11:22
find someone who nicks cars and ask how they would do it lol

Robb

go down with v5 and ID etc...

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 11:25
basically the short answer is no you cant just get the codes from shitroen, they have already said they would replace the ecu and immobiliser and recode to the car

Ryan
22nd September 2008, 11:27

it will if the ecu has been unlocked (with imob box)

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 11:29
yeah but trying to find a cheapish decoded ECU thats a IAW1PW.40 is very difficult lol

22nd September 2008, 11:29
Cant a car electrics place mess around with it and reset stuff?

Surely theres an option other than giving Shitroen all that money!

there are companies who can unlock ecus for around £150 iirc.

Not sure on if they can do the gaypad immob ones

If there's no other way than paying £550 + vat then i think you'll have to spend the rest of you life typing codes into the keypad!! :fcuk:

ive tried no one will touch it, theres a supposedly decoded ecu on egay but i dont trust egay at all so i dont want to shell out £100 for one that i have no guarantees it will work.

Looks like i might be breaking for parts

unlucky :P i bet someone will of used the code before :) but will be that long since they did it, they wont remember it :P

Is there no way of telling what numbers have been pressed?
It sounds stupid, but no dirty marks, faded numbers on the pad etc?

Ahhh thats really crap mate.

kristel10589
22nd September 2008, 11:51
Couldn't you try some detective work and see which numbers have the most fingerprints on it or something like that? Then work out which order they go in :err:
I would have thought that the actuall numbers will have the most ware

phillyh
22nd September 2008, 11:53
Ayye get some white powder, haha, although, if youve pressed loads it might be hard to tell.

Could give it a go though!

i have actually thought of that unfortunately there all equally worn if i could get my hands on an ecu from a car some1 is breaking that knows the code for there ecu it would work but thats easier said than done

Going back a few year when my mate had a 106XSI.

After it had stood for 12 months he forgot the code. :homme:

So all we did in the end was ran a fused live to a push switch on the dash, and then to the started motor.

So to start the car he had to turn the key until everything on the dash lit up, then push the button to start the car, by-passing the keypad. :)

If he turns the key he won't get everything lit up, he'll get the battery light but that's it as the immobiliser will stop everything else from firing up, the immobiliser stops the ECU from working basically, hence he'll get nothing, not even the starter motor.

basically there are 5040 different codes that can be entered 3 at a time until the keypad locks for half an hour i have found that if i turn the ignition off after 3 incorrect attempts and unplug the keypad leave it for 30 seconds plug the keypad back in and switch ignition on it unlocks the keypad allowing me to type in 3 furthur codes having to repeat myself everytime, so if 3 codes takes a minute lets say it will take me 28 solid hours to type in all 5040 codes:n: hmmm i dont think so i think its being sold for parts!

Robb
22nd September 2008, 13:46
To be fair though, i definetly would have checked that someone had the code before I bought it...

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 13:49
the keypad immobiliser never worked i assumed it was disconnected and if you read back a bit i have contacted the previous owner and the one before that it never was on when they had the car so they dont know it

There's 10,000 possible codes, not 5040 :( sorry to shit on that.

well i thought that because its 10times10times10times10 someone has made a point that one digit could only be in position one 9 time position 2 eight times and so on and so on, way to piss on my parade though lol

need any spares? got a whole cars worth now lol

acemastr
22nd September 2008, 15:04
you forgot 0 :p

Don't jump to that conclusion yet, there will be a solution out there, checked the immobiliser box for stickers? (long shot i know) any keyrings come with it when you got it? my last pug 306 had it written on a keyring

-Jason-
22nd September 2008, 15:08
Can you not just unplug the pad?

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 15:09
unfortunately not i have looked all over the car, no keyrings, and the only thing written down on any of the paperwork is the code for the old head unit i even tried that but no it doesnt work, im so screwwed! i have the car advertised at the mo as well i need to sell it before i can get my vtr because i dont have enough room on my drive :(

Edit :

Buy an ecu of flebay and try it doesnt hurt to try or...

Unplug everything (ecu, imo pad etc) then disconect the battery and then connect everything back up except the pad and then reconnect the battery see if it resets it.

Would leave it for a couple of hours to when everything is off

If all else fails, try and get a cheap stand alone management second hand. Upgrade :D

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 15:14
so what would i need-

ecu
immobiliser

????

-Jason-
22nd September 2008, 15:17
See above

chriswoodward
22nd September 2008, 15:21
See above

what? are you even reading this or just typing random shit?

so what would i need for a stand alone management system?

e.g ecu and immobiliser? i just dont know because the ecu's are coded to the car

-Jason-
22nd September 2008, 16:28
What?

I said try disconnecting the immobilisor and then the ecu and then the battery and leave unplugged for an hour or so and then reconnect the ecu then the battery but noy the key pad and see if it resets itself if you read the post on the previous page instead of moaning you would have seen.

Good excuse for a new car mate!

baker556
22nd September 2008, 16:54
yea just try disconnecting everything for like a few hours of just dissconnect the positive terminal on the battery for hours might help reset something

also cant you plug in another ecu and try it like a cheap one and they plug your one back in might reset it all

or plug your ecu into another saxo the same engine size as yours and its might reset it as there one might not have a code......just some thoughts...
