Im sure im not alone here!!!Driving along good song comes on,so you crank the volume up,sounds great until, the boot starts rattling from the bass from the sub and then the third brake light has a slight rattle aswell. From the outside it sounds awful.Am i the only one who gets pissed off with this!!!

I have heard alot of cars suffer from this vibration,it does my head in.Im thinking of removing my sub and just installing a top set of 6x9s on the shelf.

6x9s are fucking pish, no ifs no buts. If you want bass you will only get it from a sub.

its a personal decision..................
i like my 6*9's cos i can turn by sub down low and i'll have 6*9 components in rear when the install is completed

I had alot of vibrations in my vtr and I found the best way was just to pack it all out.I first placed little bits of cardboard around the panel on the boot to see if it stoped rattling, and when i'd finaly stoped them all I just replaced the cardboard with something less cheap looking.

dynamat is what i'm using and just a layer of it on the inside of your boot makes a hell of a difference. just beware you cut your hands rolling it between the gaps in the boot!!!!

my 3rd brake light rattled so i just placed some little black electrical tape around where the casing joins. Does anybody know what sound wadding does, and if it is worth using, i've heard many sub boxes have it in
thanks

sound deadening makes a major difference to the sound as it traps the sound inside the car insted of some of it being wasted on the outside!
if you want the bass sound outside your car then open your sunroof or put your window down a tiny bit as this allows the moving sound waves/air to travel outside the car and sound like a sub should do

sound wadding is to put inside a sub enclosure. It gives you some fill in the box if the box is too large for the sub, it also stops some of the vibrations.
Sound deadening is to stop sound moving through pannels. Road noise coming in, and stereo sound be lost. It also helps stop vibrations. It really works. The best ones to get are:
Brownbread
Dynamat
Stinger- roadkill
Autoleads own brand
All of these are good.

simply take the back wiper off and take out the 3rd brake light off its easy

erm..great advice from a pro there... smileys/smiley5.gif
i have the whole rattling thing, but its the metal pin for the central locking for the tailgate (and NO adammango etc im not removing it as its actualy quite handy)
iv got sound deadening all over the car, but it doesnt stop that pin rattling smileys/smiley13.gif and its very audible from outside the car

I get a rattle coming from the sun roof visor to which is cured by just ever-so slightly opening the visor.

the worst rattling i get is from the plastic bit inside the boot where it meets the parcel shelf i stuffed it full of foam but its still just as bad would this brown bread do the trick there?

u sure its not the pin im talking about? or is it the actual bit of trim thats doing the rattling?
D_Man

on mine it is the plastic trim, window wiper, 3rd brake light, and if i really pump it up the spoiler makes an awful noise likes its goin to break smileys/smiley7.gif
