smart car!

Hi

My girlfriend is getting a smart car which is semi-automatic (i.e. clutchless) and is wondering if she can get away with taking an automatic driving test or does it have to be a manual?

I've looked on Google and I can't find anything.

with my friend she took her test with an automatic but she is now only allowed to drive automatics, if she wants to drive a manual she has to do a retest aparently, dont know if thats any use

Yea thats what i thought, but I wasn't sure because it's neither manual nor automatic???

im sure thats like the car shes got now - oh i dont know all i know is that she is only allowed to drive automatics, personally id go for doing a manual test then that means she can drive any car

yup you get insured/licensed only for the type of car you did your test in

agree with joe go all the way to start with. automatics are horrible to drive anyway.

Yea but she's not really the driving type and can't get the hang of manuals. If she took her test in a semi automatic tho, i take it she'd be ok to drive it.

anyhoo...i can never understand y people do the automatic test!

ye thats like my mate, i asked her if she wanted to have a go of my car before and she said she didnt know what to do lol
my parents got an automatic but they drive manuals too because they did a manual test, its gutting for my mate the fact that she would have to do a retest silly pleb lol

automatics arent that nasty any more dan! my dad had an automatic zafira and it was lovely to drive, ive also drove a mercedes auto and that was gorgeous aswel!
