Does anyone know how much roughly Scrapping Companies would give you in exchange for your car...The companies that say "We will buy your car for blah blah"..Do they just give you peanuts?

Yeah the places round here do. I think it was Reclamet that gave my mate about £80 for his Ford Scorpio with a knackered engine. It was one of the top of the line models with full leather interior with heated seats etc etc. Told him breaking it would've probably been better.

Scrappys charge per ton as already said.... if your not breaking then fll the car with as much scrap you got and take it down... one of my mate bought a rotten rover 600 for 60 quid, drove it straight to the yard and they gave him 145 back!! easy money lol

that's great I'm good mates and my gf is cousins with Deatons, the scrap metal center, biggest in Derbyshire.
Altho the credit crunch is affecting business like you said with imports from china they still pay great prices for the scrap!

I think breaking it would be the best option to gain the most money back!
I haven't got the time to doddle about because the MoT runs out on 3rd and tax tomorow so Will have to get going!!

Break it down, sell the decent parts, then weigh in the rusty metal lump & cat.

as said its about 100quid down this way but breaking it would be better then take it to the scrapyard
....make it heavier by spraying water on the seats which soaks it up :y:
