howdy all, after 2 years of owning many of the well known "rollerskate", the fiat cinquecento, i have now moved onto the french scene as a new challenge.
i have carried out many conversions to the number of cinquecento's i have owned, from 1242 punto 60 8v FIRE engine conversions to turbo conversions.
after selling all the spare parts and cars i have bought myself a saxo vtr to play with. i paid 1000 for it with 76k on the clock, its a nice neat and tidy motor, with a little surface rust to the chassis leg (first priority to sort out before it eats the whole chassis) .
that was the only major thing wrong with it.
but after much research before buying one i have decided to start having a little play.
first on the books shall be a 16v conversion and a little lowering.
after this i shall to look into something a little more drastic (turbo maybe?),
who knows.
anyone thought id show my face here before posting anywhere else.
and i shall post some pictures up later this evening when i have the chance.
i'm looking forward to meeting new people here who can hopefully help me out where needed.
and i hope my previous experience can help others also on here,
cheers

hey, its a mk2 (round lights) although has silvertop engine. sorry i haven't posted up pics. ive been busy working and doing minor repairs to the saxo ( changing the bloody driveshaft at dark'oclock last night :n:) much to my avail i drive it today and the seals have gone so loosing gearbox oil, so the whole thing is coming out tomorrow again.
ive finally got used to the car now, although gear changes are slow as hell (no power low down rev range, then all of a sudden power kicks in)
and when i change gear it just doesn't give a nice kick as clutch re engages (maybe this is normal for the saxo, i dont know, kind of new to the french scene)
but yes, uploading pics to computer as i speak,
cheers
