got my project for final year at college to do, electrical engineering and i cant think of owt good to do!? wanted to do something to do with cars or somet interesting but cant think at all, all ive thought about is a ride height sensor/alarm since i smashed my strut brace other day, or electric window sensors if someones hands there but there too basic abit i think! so has anyone got any ideas of somet to do???

wire a small current through a panel on the car, not enough to kill someone but u know wt i mean, when someone touches it, it brakes the current and alarm goes off...

that would be cool, duno if its possible tho ;)

ye that would be good but im not sure that electricity would conduct through all that paint and laquer ontop, but probs would if it was strong enough, like a car battery connected to each door and boot would think twice about breakin in

pfft thats easy as shit lol!

well could make it harder by errrrm having a finger print sensor which turns it all on and errrrr cant think of owt at all see!

anyone know how car alarms are built and are they difficult to wire up and stuff :S guessin they are since there so expensive, grrrr fucksake surely every "engineering problem" thats simple has been solved!

Aftermarket light sensor to switch on headlights automatically.

Or maybe a screen showing displays of various engine parameters. You could then save these for download after each journey.

You could create a metal plate to go inside the door handle on a car and wire that to a power source for shock I guess. Wouldn't have to have paint on it then.

right ive decided im doin a tailgating sensor deviceamjig, detects wether car behind is one or less car lengths from you and if it is then is sends an automatic message from an scrolling led display, such asssssssss "fuck off cunt" or just "get off my arse" or "halt! tailgating" "please stay back" goood idea yeaass? and maybe a loud speaker to read the messages out in microsoft sam voice

haha btw actually asked if i could do the metal plate which is electric idea but college tutor seemed to think kids would be trying my door handles and that it "wasnt good for health and safety"

make a controllable device what sits on your lap connects to your steering wheel and can control your steering via a small remote control in your hand, would be quite simple to do and you could use a similar design to a remote control car steering system only on a large scale it could be connected via a pivot on the top of the steering wheel and allow a good steering circle it would have to be quite heavy and like a t shape design so the bottom of the t could sit snug in the middle of your legs and the top of the t across the top of you legs.

Great for motorway driving where you dont need full control of steering and your just lane changeing, and it takes away strains of stretching your arms out and shoulders acheing i know how this feels because ive been doing 6 hour journeys and its awful for your neck arms and shoulders holding that same position for so long
