Why is it so many chavs love putting on 17 & 18 inch rims which look stupid? :wall:

In personal choice a nice set of 15 or 16s look nice.

what you all think?

chinkostu

jmt84
1st October 2008, 17:54
i've got 15's, imo 15/16's are the perfect size for small cars such as saxo's/106's

saxo_shaun
1st October 2008, 17:55
i reackon smaller wheels like 14's or 15's give it a good look when the car is low, but when its not lowered then then 16's is about as big as they should be i think

Arr0nUK

chavs dont know anything, i had this argument with someone the other day.. he said he wanted 18s on a corsaC.. i ripped him for it (both wanting a corsa, and then wanting 18s on a corsa) i think hes changed his mind :)

craig180

My 16s with the correct sized tyres = same rolling radius as 15s but lighter ;)

2nd October 2008, 12:32
lol when i first came on this site it was all for the larger wheeled generation.

how times have changed, as scott said, its getting bland and boring. at trax there were no cars pushing the boundaries. which sucked.

granted im not a fan of hugely bodykitted cars, but its nice to have a bit of variety rather than a load of standard cars which have just had a quick dabble with some fairy liquid and have had their standard wheels painted

5c077y11
2nd October 2008, 15:19
well thats not get to hasty now painting some standard wheels look good if you find the right colour consept

mikey362vtr
2nd October 2008, 15:41
i agree with the standard wheel painting, i cant afford set of after market rims so im paintin mine same colour as the car with a blue lip to match my sparco mud flaps. once ive got a new exhaust sorted the back calipers and got it through its next mot ill think about gettin some 16'S i think.

if its an everyday car dont go bigger than 16's coz your gonna get a hard ride not somethin i could deal with ma self, but if its a show car go for it 22's with air bag suspension what ever you want lol.

I agree with that to a certain extent but here is a great photo from the sax-p stand at trax that proves there is still variety in the saxo world:

Large alloys are not cool and never will be ever again imo. 15" alloys ftw :)

My pet hate at the moment is boys that go around in corsas, with 17 or 18" wheels, and it makes corsas sit like tractors even if they try a lower it, it still looks like a complete heap of pig shit. Can they not see what it looks like? Annoys me everytime i see one now.

show cars with mad kits on and big wheels are the only way a small car should have oversized wheels that need half the car chopping off to fit.

my mate put either 17s or 18s on his old 'N reg' 5 door corsa. he couldnt have any one in the back or it would perminently scrape the arches, and it looked naff! might av a picture on me old phone
