vtr 90 bhp
vts 120 bhp
there are claims that the mk2 vtr had 98 bhp but it has never been proved.
so basically what welshey said just a facelift.

Parkers say:
Mk1 VTR 90 BHP
Mk2 VTR 100BHP
But from my experience they are about the same standard so I assume the Mk2 is 90bhp.

if the cat. is under the car, then you have the 90bhp model.
if the cat. is in the manifold, then you have the 98bhp model.
somebody did prove he had the 98bhp vtr. his name was 'Psycho' and he posted the results of his rolling road on 5th january 2004 at 11:26am smileys/smiley17.gif
and the vts has always had 120bhp.

It is just a facelift, as the mk2 vtr is ment to have 98bhp but mk1's are just as fast if not faster in my oppinion.

if its ONLY a facelift, then why does the 'citroen saxo - technical specification' brochure confirm that the vtr has 100bhp. ok, they've rounded it up, but they wouldn't have rounded it up by 10bhp.

is having the cat in the manifold a 'good' or 'bad' thing? smileys/smiley5.gif

standard mk2 vtr is faster than a mk1 vtr, ive seen it in a race. I know drivers matter but in a straight line the mk2 was pulling all the time

ive had a 2000 model of the vtr and a 2001 and the 2001 seems to be quicker. i got told that the mk 1 vtr is 90, the 2000 models of the mk2 were 90 and 20001 + are 98

well i dont know why but i have the silver top motor in my mk1 an have been told by shitroen that it is the 98bhp engine as it is 31st december 1999, so she a late model.

black top vtr 97-98 90bhp
silver top vtr 98-00 90bhp
silver top vtr 00- end of production 98bhp
or silver top cat in downpipe = 98bhp

never really seen much differnce between a 98bhp n a 90bhp sax my old black top used to sit with the 98bhp models allday long
isnt like 8bhp is going to make that much of a differnce is it?
Dan
10th August 2005, 18:20
should make a slight difference, would actually like to see a race of the two.

had a few races with mk2s more fun thesedays when you get a cocky mk2 driver who thinks their 98bhp car can trash my mk1 good fun having a vts lump in a vtr shell keeps me amused smileys/smiley4.gif
