Theatre Surround sound ????

Hi guys, just wondering about sumfin ....

If i buy a dvd cinema system it comes with the bass speaker and the other little speakers for the "surround effect"
But with the theatre systems you get a TUNER and the speakers but NO dvd player..

Does the tuner just plug into any dvd player (cheap or dear) ????

Do i have to buy the theatre system and buy a really good dvd player so it can be set up fine.

What i was wanting to do (coz iv just bought a 28" thomson widescreen tv) was coz iv got a cheapy dvd player and i was away to buy a theatre system with tuner but really there aint no point if it wont set up ok??

yeh it plugs into anything with the correct audio outputs (red, white etc)

your better with a decent dvd player tho as they'l use more sophisticated sound equipment indside it

What is the actual diiference between cinema and theatre?

not too sure on that mate, i think its maybe just the difference between the type of acoustics you get from the speaker setup

eg a real life cinema's acoustics arent the same as a theatres. the way the sound is sent throughout the given room
