sick of vts alloys and really fancy going rat look, got a quote of around £300 for a set of banded steels.

So a couple of questions:
Whats the smallest wheels i can get away with, can i fit 4 stud 13", or do they have to be 14" for the brakes, or could i get round this with diff offset, would be 7" on front, 8" on rear, or 8" on front 9" on rear?

Anyone have any thoughts or pics on any nice steel wheel designs, i.e rallye wheels etc?

If i have to go with 14" wheels my cars down 65mm all round so was wondering whats a resnoable width, without to much arch work if any? what width and if possible the offset, are vtr alloys 5"? & vts alloys 6"?

I want the deep dish look so the band would be on the outside, does this increase the offset or decrease, think its decrease?

Thinking about tyres would want a stretch to them, so what tyre would i need, Im into my mini's so i know i could get 13" tyre to fit right upto about 14" wide!!! but what about 14" tyre choice? had a quick look intot his and it looks to have to be 165 profiles!

cheers

13” is fine on any stock Saxo Brake even BTR/VTS ones :y:

I had 13" 7" Wide Minilites on that had 215/50/13 tyres on with 20mm Hubcentric Spacers and they caught the inside of the arches on the front and rear and had to chop a bolt of the suspension arm. Ideally they'd need 30mm spacers but that was too far out for me so i got rid. But they did cover the brakes pretty easy.

And my cars down 60mm front and slammed rear.

i think vtr wheels are 6" and vts are 7". someone can correct me if i'm wrong. they certainly arent 5" and 6" though.

i wouldnt go any smaller than 14's! you will have major problems with 13's. to get the stance right you would need to go down over 100mm and that is going to cause major problems using it on the road.

the brown euro saxo was on 14's and down about 100mm all round on coilovers. you would need to go even lower to make 13's look any good.

right if that the case looks as if its 14x8 front, 14x9 rear, depends on offset aswell though, anyone got any info on e.t of factory wheels?

standard wheels for a vts are 15x7 et15

if you are going to fit 14x8's on the front and 14x9's on the rear, it would be worth pm'ing chandler on here or edition38 to ask what offsets his wheels were as thats exactly what he fitted to his. although personally i think 9's on the rear is too wide. i would go for 8's all round if it were me.

this is a good website that will calculate the offset for you

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

if you keep the inside clearance the same then you wont have any rubbing issues.

I am confused as to why you would say that. If you have the same profile tyres on the 13” wheels would sit lower on a given reduction in suspension and in so you will not have to lower the suspension as much to get a given ride hight.

you are correct if you are talking about how high the car is off the ground but thats not what i was saying.

what i mean is you will need to lower to car even more to reduce the distance between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch.

if you are going for the euro/low look, then you dont want there to be a gap between the tyre and the arch. its not so important how high the car is off the ground. if you get what i mean?

if you look at the brown euro vtr on 14's down 100mm there is still quite a large gap between the tyre and the arch which is not what you want when going euro. you want the arch to sit just above the tyre, or over it if you want the some tuck.

i would get 10inch rears and 8 inch front with severe stretched tyres would look the nuts!

you wouldnt be able to fit 10's on the rear of a saxo. not matter how much stretch there is on the tyre, it would not sit under the arch. therefore it wouldnt be legal to drive on the road and would look crap imo. 9's are too big, let alone 10's!

10s would fit with a s1600 kit though ;) and that would look epic!
