I've got a Mk1 1.1 Saxo

Bought the car without this pipe and citreon told me that as winter comes in and your car is cold, the air flow needs the heat to keep the petrol runing or something, i forgot what they said as this was a few months back.

Well now as winter is coming in, i'd like this fixed. I know its only a pipe but it will stop me kangerooing down the road.

Thanks!

Hi mate can't see why it would make you kangaroo down the road, but it looks like a dead easy fix probably only the length of pipe and a jubilee clip, should get one from the scrappy ok. Looking at the engine on my vtr that pipe or it's connections is not even there.
P.S the shaded area and writing was to show me where some breathers go for an induction kit

Sorry about image quality. Its to do with a cold start, the engine woudl struggle and drink a gallon of fuel.

Anyone know the pipe name? Not the sort of thinf they would sell in Halfords or B&Q or the local plumbing centre is it?

The pipe you are missing mate is a metal flexi pipe and its the warm air feed for the winter. its is mainly due to the spi injection unit as later MPI unit dont need them The housing in the air feed that it joins to has a flap with a bi metal strip in it. When its cold it contracts and opens the flap to allow warm air to enter the engine until the engine is warm then it closes and uses the cold air form the atmosophere. Hope that helps and hives a bit of an idea what its for and how it works
