have the police got nothing better to do?
i was told to change my rear lights or face a fine, cos i sprayed then green to match the paint. GUTTED i now have my old lexus lights on smileys/smiley11.gif . i feel like a right chav, specially after ranting on to a newbie about how shite they are!!!

do they glow the correct colours when theyre on?
why not just buy the green jewel lights?

no not really, cos they're green the lights show through yellow! i think i sprayed them a bit thick?
i think i'll just try getting the paint off....nitro-mors??

DONT use nitromors ! shittin hell it eas through plastic melted my old old side skirts away lol
thinners an bit of work might do. but yeah they will be ilegal as not enough light comes through plus wrong colour.
dont they do green ones? or are they too bright of a green?

open photobucket in one window and sax p in another
copy an paste one at a time as windows will only hold one item you copy an paste at a time.

you need the reflecters showing as well!!! otherwise there still not legal!!!!

the green tinted are a bit bright dont really look right,

i was told by the police that you are not allowed to diminish your rear lights in any way. so... tinting spray, etc... is not permitted.

Agreed with the tinting spray bit!
They are made and E marked.... this E mark is to show that the lights AS THEY ARE meet the regulations, so changing them in anyway will not make them E marked properly anymore!

i used thinners to get the paint off of mine,it will come of quite easy.

thinners is best.
I've tinted and put tights on mine in the past, but was always fully aware that it was illegal. And to quote the mot guy, the only reason my lights failed was becuase of lack of reflector (covered up by tights).
they are also a set brightness, but i don't think they have a way of testing it as such.

i had my escort lites sprayed red and i think i put too much on as all the lites were red!! took it off with thineers, but make sure your quick, put it on a cloth then rub like hell and wash off with water straight away, to avoid meltin the lites. smileys/smiley2.gif

my old fiesta had its lights sprayed black and i got through the MOT ok because you could still clearly see the lights but the garage did say i needed to stick some reflectors on the back of the car to make it legaller. smileys/smiley2.gif
