What is the black sensor next too the sunroof winder?

I think ur talking about the plastic cover that covers the sensor for the central locking. It comes off by gently squeezing each end.

On mk1s its for the central locking which is IR based. Mk2s have a RF set so no need for the IR sensor.

mark one's have them, so keep a look out at local breakers yards, that's what im doing.. haven't found one yet though :( they're easy to remove, squeeze the front and rear, like 'fkvtr' said, just be carefull not to snap off the clips which hold them in, like someone did to mine :y: hope this helps

I snapped mine off. Bad times. Easy to get new ones though chappy.
