Starting the car in the mornings on a wet day the fan belt squeeks like hell. The car also tends to overheat whenever I go on a long journey.
I left the car for about 3 weeks without using it, when it finally came to actually starting it the battery was completely flat. So I charged it up hoping that it was just the three week layoff that had caused this. However last night it refused to start again, same with this morning.
Now is this due to the fanbelt needing to be tightened or is this the altenator that has gone?
