gearbox mount *rep will be given*

i am in need of a new one so i going to pick one up thismorning. just wondered when fitting it do i need a jack under the gearbox to lower the box down or can i put something under it to keep the box in the same place. as i am unsure if the box needs to come down to get the old mount out and fit the new one. cheers

you should be able to get the mount off with out any help but you may need someone to give you a hand moving the engine when fitting new one.

Thats the one under the battery right?

Literally, just support the box with a jack to stop it dropping.

The other mounts hold it in good enough place while you make the change but you need the jack to keep it lined up and to ease tightening.

dont need nothing to hold it mate, take other one off and new one on just need car jacked up to get under :y:

may need someone to push on the engine to get the holes to line up a bit, only needed someone to do that once with me tbh rest just done my self.

You have 2 mounts on the top holding the engine etc so fine just to take it off.

But if it makes you feel safer no harm in sticking a jack and a bit of wood under the sump.
