had a K&N on my old car and made the petrol consumption bad and had heard that the pannel fitler was good for it, hence the reason iv got the pannel filter with a forced airfeed

hi guys been looking at the progress of my saxo and realised its been a long time since iv put any thingt on here since i last put up a post, iv had to replace another front bumper due to hitting a badger at 50+mph just outside of malvern which was annoynig to say the least becasue i had only just got the car back from being lowered a couple of days before!!!!!
this is a pic of it now lowered 40mm all round on the spaxx

the car now looks so much better since it has been lowered and im really happy with the job done, well done to the guys at aldon. iv also been looking into oilcatch tanks and decided not too long ago to get my self one
here is a pic of the result of too much time and looking for the right item because i wanted a tank with the breather attached

iv now finally after looking for ages and not really having time managed to get the right sized silcone hose to attach the oil catch tank and fitted it.

iv actually been impressed with the way it works had it on now and been on some serious drives and the results are noticed it is catching all of the crap that come out of the engine and travels up the breather pipe hopefully keeping my inlet clean.

Finally got round to doing my head lights yday, was not too bad to do with the help off the guide provided off here :y:
Should say if you have got a fan assisted oven my lights only needed to be for 6-7 mins not thje full 10!
Dont think that my mum was too impressed to find a head light in the oven when she wanted to cook dinner lol.

i think that pic looks so good lol, already booked car in to get the boot smoothed over for the payday lol with the spoiler getting sprayed aswell £100 all in so not too bad, think after that will get the rocker cover finally sprayed up white and think about getting alloys done too but not too sure??

Right been looking round the back of the car today to try to solve the pinging/rattling that has begun!! going to try the arb when it is not raining so much but also noticed that my bushies are on the way out! any recommendations for rear beam bushies, have just been looking at Powerflex but not sure what usually the best? all help wanted :y:

Think it was 50mm all round as mine was stanard at that point and they look like they are on stilts imo in standard from, think it weas on 16s with a 205 width of tyre

decided i was going to refurb my vtr wheels over the winter, so needed to get my self some winter wheels to get me through the dirty months. managed to get myself some thing ok for very cheap and got a full refurb on all for £10 at my work very happy will get them on tonight i hope providing they have all gone off and hardened

Hoping to get some updates of the xmas purchases going on/fitted as soon as possible but in the mean time i think i have got a problem with a lambda sensor...
I have had a engine managment light come on the dash! I have been and got someone to plug into the diagnostics and they do say it is a problem with one of the sensors but not sure as to which he was talking about? looking to replace the lower as that looks abit rough to the eye.
since the light has come on and this may just be me... but the car seems to have got slower since the light has been on, just wondering if this could actually be the case and im not just imagining it.
the next thing is im looking to get a new sensor and wondering the best place to get one?
Also on a different front i have got a laguna splitter that i think im going to sell as i have never got to fitting it.

NGK Sparks (bought)
oil filter (bought)
fuel filter (bought)
castrol magnatec (to buy)
mintex front brake pads (to buy)
And after bday new injectors to replace old tired ones. (help on which are best)


Also car is fully out of the garage now from hiding for the winter, but here is a picture to show how snug it was in the garage lol

got hold of a second set of r alloys and they are currently going through a refurd and paint here is a pic of one

Should also says tires are bold!! so dont care about painting them will have to get some new ones on asap
will update when all black and going on to the car :y: hopefully will finish the car off gloss black alloys and also the bump strips.

looks spot on mate, mani will decat and make a massive difference to the sound lol mine pops and bangs ect all the time and is 2x as loud as the before decat ;) also looking at getting a lower strut brace . . . take some pics of fitting it and let me know how it was :P

Hopefully goin to wrap the mani tomorrow after work, bet its going to take ages lol, looking forward to it going on now as my exhaust is just deep at the min so will be good to see the difference :y: its loud now though so hate to think how it will be if yours is twice as loud now.
Going to put the strut on tomorrow at work if i get the chance so will take pics for you while putting it on :p hopefully should not be too bad a thing to do.

Got the lower strut on today really easy to do and would really recommend having one on!! it feels so better than the top strut when on the move!!

I now only have one worry and that is that the lower strut sits really close to the floor now.

and also just a shot at work on the car park after fitting the strut as got abit bored.

Another small bit of progress for today, got my mani back from getting a nut welded into it for the top lambda sensor :y: got all of the gaskets and picked up some heat wrap, hopefully going to get that wrapped tonight (been told it can take a while), just got to get my mk1 oil filter and attachment and then will get the mani fitted

I realised I have not been on here for a while, as for a long period of time the saxo was not causing me any hassle and was running very well, i got myself some drilled and grooved discs for it and new ebc pads all round, got to be said i only noticed the difference in the wet! however time has come now for me to sell the saxo.... of which i am not happy as i have bought a new car and running the two is looking to be a none starter!!! I am truely gutted to say this too!
However i am very happy with my new car and loving the way it feels and goes....
I do have some plans for her but at the moment its just the little things as its already had a new turbo and remapped to 257bhp!!

that SRi turbo looks mint, was looking between the two but for some reason went for the GSi, do love it! and the power lol, first boosted car for me so is taking some getting used too! also the fuel is uses is really taking some getting use too lol

Live not too far from there, just by stourbridge. used to work up on body repair, and for me now this astra feels huge by comparison. have been parking so far away from the curb as not used to the width yet lol

had a day off and in between the rain and the horrible weather i found how long it takes to clean both of your cars lol, also got somethings ordered today ;) as well as getting the centre consol sent off to be wrapped in carbon fibre.
Took a few pics but on the phone so will sort through, but here is the old and the new sat together. got to be honest will be sad to see the vtr go :n:

Its been really growing on me mate and loving it now, and LOVE the arden blue GSi mate, would have had one, drive past one way to work in the morning and the front mount on it look awesome :D will defo a buy for mine, going to try to keep mine looking sleeper style only things to change exterior wise with be gloss black alloys and the change of calipers :y:

Get a vxr turbo on there and they produce great gains :y:

Has got a new turbo on it already ;) and only really been mapped in with a bit extra to 257bhp :) and the new boost pipes helped too, very tempted with the black alloys and vxr calipers! Gonna aim for 300bhp though as doesn't seem too hard to get with these blocks!

Tiny update for today, got some wrapping down for the centre consol, have had it wrapped in carbon fibre, going to pull back out and get it laquered to give it a shine ;) but happy with how it came out, ash tray got scratched going back in so going to have to do that again :wall: happy with how it came over all!

Carbon wrap looks brilliant, almost like a OEM option. Quite like these cars, id leave the wheels silver, get some 20mm spacers and a 40mm drop. Nice and subtle. Bet it makes an awesome sound

cheers mate, i'm really on the fence for the alloys? Ive just picked up some VXR Blue paint to do the calipers :A:




Pulled the Consol out again and had another go at the whole lot, tried a bit with laquer but it looks soo much better with out
