I need some advice on a constant vibration that goes through the whole car. my sterring wheel shakes and everything. its since i was messing round with the exhaust and tightened it so tight it had no play, then when for a drive and heard a noise as i went over a pot hole. its like the exhaust is touching the body somewhere. ive had a look at it and taken it to a garage and they checked the engine mounts so it can't be that, and it doesnt look like the exhaust is touching anywhere.

thanks, any advice??

My steering wheel shakes slightl when I hit 80. I just hold it properly (10-to-2) and its fine. Normally drive at 3.15 lol.

Does it do this all the time, while accelerating or braking etc? Have you checked your tire pressure, wheel bearings?

Could be your bushes too, if you went over a pot hole this could screw up any part of your suspension so would check that over too, had a mate who did this and he snapped his rear suspension (not in a saxo mind). Or you may have buckled a wheel??

My car shaked a hell of a lot when I went anywere near 60mph. Turned out the two front tyres were put incorrectly. This meant they were spinning around the wrong way.

Make sure your wheels are balanced and check your tyres.

thanks for the help guys.

it shakes all the time like something it touching the bodywork. its not my tyre pressure or wheel barings, it shakes when im stationary hand brake on or off. i think my best bet is to get it on the ramps and have a good look at what is touching.
