pug206gti-not the 180

aite peps, what do you all think of the pug 206 gti,not the newer 180 version. the 137 version. im looking into it as i have to sell mine coz of unforseen circumstances, i dont want to as ive not long had all car finished as i liked it and love it. and have been lookin at interest at this, because ive had a few mates wiv pug 206s and i like em but wanted my gd saxp trustees help.

my ex's mum had one. i had a little go in it. it was very nippy. i quite liked it but i wouldnt have swapped my saxo for one.

how much could you pick up a 206 gti for these days? and how much is the new 180? the 180 is the one i would have. i love the look of it and especially in the electric blue.

180 like group 17 insurance, wont insure me im 19.. as the normal gti is 14 insurance, jus bout insure me thats about 51plate...

as in - i thought the interior was bland, it didnt look as nice, it wasnt as comfy to drive, you couldnt park it as easy


considerin the jump in insurance i would of expected more power

a/c actually hinders performance from what i can make out - and the seats dont really bother me! my mum had leather interior in her 306 and it wasnt that impressive!

the only thing i liked was the burgundy colour! i looked at one for 7995

i chose to keep my sax

i know what alicia means. the interior on the one i went in was a bit... gash (im not sure other word to use). the seats werent that comfortable.

so the 206 gti (2.0 16v - 137bhp) is the same insurance group as a vts (1.6 16v - 120bhp). in my opinion, i would have a vts over the gti.

edit:- but at the end of the day mate, its your choice. what car do/did you have?

ive got vtr now, 17s full bodykit, etc....
have to sell im afraid, love to keep it. so i dont want another saxo coz its defeating the object if you get me. selling it to go back, not much point. and im having to give up serious modding so really want something thats looks nice, bit nippy like the pug, hope u understand. there aint much else on the market init.

i test drove a cupra gti - which is about an r reg - runs a polo gti engine quite nifty and look good too!

well im just sayin the one I test drove was an r reg - it was for my dad but he chose the golf over it!

the ibizas are nicer in the new shape - and not too badly priced!

y dont u look at a civic sport? instead of the type r

lupo gti's - a 2003 can b picked up for just under 9k but no room for a sub in the boot lol

my dad has this girls car attitude - and i can leave his golf gti behind on most roads down here!

you cant take that attitude with cars!

the lupo and polo gti's are 126bhp. very quick for such a small car.

i would definitely have a tdi. same with the 206's. my ex work colleague had an hdi or something and they were rapid.

my mum had a polo tdi when she put her 4 in for servicing and it went like a rocket! and theyre virtually the same as the golfs nowadays too!

golf 1.8t, nice inside. good biuld quality. and for 400squid you can fit a revo chip, with just the chip it takes the car from 150bhp to 200bhp thats with out any other mods. fairly cheap to buy and insure. i saw a 52 plate with 54k and full leather + electrics for 7200squid.

i like my dads car - sorry i no its got no relavance to your thread but its pretty fast - its a Y reg volvo, s60 Turbo i think it is - my mam was telling me when they were away in the ukraine going through germany (coz thy drive there) he got up to 140mph - not bad i thought lol
