hahahahahahahahahahahaha, i've never heard anything so ridiculous.
like joe says, a subaru impreza turbo makes the noise it does because it has a flat 4 'boxer' engine as opposed to the 'normal' in-line 4 cylinder found on the saxo. you want that noise then i'm affraid the best way is to buy a subaru.

powerflow custom exhausts smileys/fcuk.gif usually found on a chavvy car that sounds like its airborne then you see the car crawl past you lol

i'm with sean you want the sound of a scooby go buy one if you want an exhaust that sounds good on a saxo get a magnex or a scorpion suzuka pipe and de-cat it

The rumbling noise that an impreza makes its actually produced by the manifold.

Either which way, your saxo is not gonna ever sound like an impreza and even if it did, would you REALLY want it to???

I think powerflow are good quality exhausts, spose its all about preference really in terms of how it sounds and theres plenty of tailpipe designs to choose from. If you want your saxo to sound like a sports car thats up to you!!

don't talk pish. as explained before, the noise is due to the layout of the engine. certainly has fuck-all to do with the manifold smileys/smiley24.gif

sean it actually is to do with the manifold apparently, this was hotly debated on ssc a little while ago and apparently its become one "tube" on the manifold is extremely short compared to the others, apparently once and after market manifold is fitted then the burble is lost.

well at least thats the story im not committing either waysmileys/smiley17.gif

dam, so basically if someone came out with a new manifold for a saxo with it being a similar design to the scooby's u saying it would sound abit like a scooby, that would b heavy!!

Sean
24th August 2005, 01:03
if proven scott, i'll take back everything i said smileys/smiley17.gif but i've always been led to believe(from more than one source) that it's due to the flat 4 boxer engine . the old porsche 911's have a flat 6 and make a similar noise? smileys/smiley4.gif

and so does a db9, but that isnt the debate

[edit] damn 56k is too slow - that was aimed at the other dude mate

as i say matey im not batting either way i always thought it was the design of the engine but a few said it was manifold, few said engine, i shrugged and said rice wagon smileys/smiley17.gifsmileys/smiley17.gifsmileys/smiley17.gif

powerflow systems r all about the customer, if you want it loud n boomy thats what ul get. if you want it quiet, you get that. i think its good that the customer can choose, at the end of the day, its your own car n need to be happy with it! ive had powerflows n was very happy, got a full magnex on my vts n am also very happy with that, personal choice at the end of the day people
