as said theres so many threads on this subject.
basically reduces engine bay temps and allows the exhaust gas, to flow out quicker

useful in the saxo engine bay because the manifold sits bang in the middle (almost). its also near to most peoples cold air feeds and air filters = heat soak. helps to prevent the engine bay getting too hot. plus draws hot air through the system.

Pros:
Reduces engine bay temps, meaning car runs cooler.
Colder inlet temps, denser air, more oxygen.
Air flows quicker out the exhaust, meaning more can be drawn in quicker.
Cons:
Can crack mild steel manifolds.
Can be a bitch to fit lol.

whats the best stuff to get?
will 2" by 10metres be long enough? im guessing it would be enough to do the one 4 branch?

been looking on ebay and somewhere local sells it quite cheap
they do it in different colours
now i wouldnt mind the black one as i rekon white would get mucky real quick!
but obviously black attracts heat so i was just wondering wether it will matter what colour i use?
cheers

your worried that heat wrap will get dirty oh dear lol
anyway black wrap will eventually turn faded, it happened to my graphite coated one

so you rekon dont get black? will it make anydifference about the heat factor? thats my main concern!
i may go for silver then

nah mate it wont wrap is wrap tbh
keeps engine temps down a bit, improves gas's flow and with temps down colder air :)
if you really want to push the boat out get the manifold ceramic coated

No black doesn't attract heat but absorbs light, and thus heat, it can't absorb heat alone.
In an engine bay as it's dark, a lighter or darker heat wrap will make zero difference.
