any computer genius here? lol. My lover has just bought a new webcam however when he switches it on its just fuzzy black, i no this happened to mine before and it was something to do with norton anti virus however iv forgotten! . any ideas on how to get it started

witch norton have u got. it should be in the allow section of the antie virus bit i think. i use zone alarm now. bin ages since i had norton installed.

right this is what we did to get his webcam working
If you got Norton, go on norton personal firewall, then click on personal firewall and then bottom right click the configure button.
Then some tabs should come up saying Firewall - Programmes - Networking - Locations-Advanced
click on programmes, then at the bottom it will say Manual Program control and it will have a list of the programms you use ie msn messenger, yahoo etc. - on the right hand side it will say internet access. So all i did was looked down the list for Msn messenger then on the right hand side clicked on the down arrow to Automatic
Then bobs your uncle his web cam worked lol- i hope someone does have trouble with it now after iv wrote all this lol
