please help a 2 day old new driver in distress

awwwwwwww im not a happy bunny! passed test on monday and obviously ive been out driving,,,,, but

my front heater fans are blowing cold air out... they never used to do this and also my temp gauge on the dash keeps rising really high... its fine if im moving but as soon as i stop in traffic etc it rises and rises and rises..... the red light came on before so i had to turn the engine off and start it back up when the lights changed

what could be my problem???

also can someone tell me where the coolant thing is in the engine to see if it needs filling up?

Check the oil cap to see if there is a creamy residue, could be your head gasket is gone/on way out.

As for the coolant the cap is at the left hand side of the radiator as you face the car ;)

we checked the oil cap when i bought it bout 7 weeks ago and it seemed fine but will check again

Check for an airlock or faulty thermostat too. Fingers crossed you get sorted coz its coming in chilly.

systems probably air locked or no coolant. which model its just on top of the radiator

Costs about £5 from shitreon takes about 10 minutes to change :y:

bleed your coolant system, you've got an airlock.

do it quickly tho, otherwise you may fry the gasket

how do i bleed the coolant system? ive no idea when it comes to cars

you have 3 bleed screws,
one on top of the radiator, twist jobby,
one by the thermostat housing, where the top hose goes in from the radiator, this is an allen screw
one to the back left of the engine, this is like a valve cap on top of the hose which goes to the heater matrix.

open them all.

top up the coolant in the radiator, closing each bleed point as the water comes out.

i havent got the fisrt clue about cars! think i need to start learning a bit then if ive to get used to it not working lol!

lol nope not yet yeah it was me the revs seem to have sorted themselves out now but the airbag thing im gonna buy some contact cleaner and give them a good clean!
